Beautiful sunsets

Great location. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Realty company was very responsive. House needs a little TLC but it was clean and comfortable.

Stay was great, Surf or Sound Staff was very communicative and helpful. Vrbo listing and pay schedule was wrong and cost us an extra 900. Won't use Vrbo again, but will be happy to contact Surf or Sound directly.

Great house,but unclean

The house has great potential. Great location, pool and big enough for 4 families. We were very unsatisfied with the poor cleaning job prior to arrival. The house is marketed as pet free, yet there was dog hair everywhere. I had to vacuum and broom upon arrival. The bathrooms were out dated and showers were not clean either. The WiFI was off and on for half our stay.

Worst experience in the Outer Banks in 30 years of vacationing there.

House- infested with ants, water damage, poorly mainatained It was dirty when we arrived and the cleaning crew had to come back out the next day. The Hot tub had slime on the surface and also had to drained and cleaned the next day. The tub on the second level wouldn't drain and spit up sand. The plumber repaired. No Dish signal all week. 5 of 10 dining room chairs- broken or unstable

DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE.

Where to start… The physical property looked similar to the house represented in the on-line pictures. There is where things go off the rails. The property is ill maintained and probably needs $50K in maintenance, both in side and out. There are foundation cracks some that are so sever as to be tripping hazards. This is particularly true at the pool, where the pool deck is collapsing. The general outside is fair, thou not maintained well. BTW, foundation cracks speak to a bigger issue of safe of the overall structure. Several of the doors going outside do not close well, with significant gaps. Inside… filth carpeting; generally dirty, that’s speaks to the cleanup between guests; dining room chairs literally falling apart; had one member of our group fall out of a chair (thankfully, no injury); kitchen cabinet doors falling off; generally, the finish on the cabinets are peeling away; one bathroom reeked of urine, that was traced to the mat; another the toilet seat was broken with a ring of sh*t around it; this was released and the mat removed. Kitchen appliances are a joke and need to be replaced. The door hinge on the refrigerator is broken, such the door literally falls open. The oven is well, well done… The microwave is RUSTED! Housekeeping was non-existent. One expects sand at the beach, but not piles. Its clear the house was poorly cleaned (how could they miss the sh*t ring?). Frankly there’s more, these are just the lowlights. I HAVE PICTURES! I’ll be posting this (and pictures) on the any and all social media sites. My goal is to forewarn prospective renters. The owner should be EMBARRASSED. The rental company “Surf or Sound Realty” should be EMBARRASSED to represent a house in such a state. DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE.

Views of the sound from property are breathtaking. Watching the windsurfers sail by was pretty amazi

We were there for night sky viewing. Didn’t disappoint. Viewed Saturn and its rings, nebula star system and learned about the star Beetlejuice. Very quiet, breathtaking views. Locals were a lot of fun to work with. We have our favorites for Salvo now. Great time!! The house afforded us space for everyone to enjoy. Again the views were unbeatable!

Family gathering for memorial event

A large (14 people) group of extended family got together for a memorial event. It was a great location for this event. There was plenty of room for everyone. The main floor with kitchen and gathering area was the center for a lot of family events. The location is fantastic. We all had a great visit to the beach. The owner was very quick to respond when we reported a problem with the AC. I can't recommend highly enough this house and Surf and Sound Realty. Cheers, Kelly McCoy

july 2020 vacation

The house was very nice lots of room, nice location. The house could us another full size refrigerator and the pool cleaned. The people cleaning need to do a better job. My 18 month old granddaughter found a prescription pill on the floor, thank God her father noticed she picked it up. The family really enjoyed our time there together.
