River retreat

My family had a wonderful time staying in this river house. The proximity to the river, views, and comfort were amazing. We spent days swimming, cooking, and would absolutely return. The property is also very pet friendly with a gated deck and private location.

Peaceful and beautiful

This house is something special. Very cozy yet spacious, private with an epic view of the river that can be enjoyed from the house, deck and hot tub. Will definitely stay here again.

Hidden Gem

Nice and private. Plenty to do indoor and outdoor. Awesome view. Love the beach access and hot tub. Set in a wonderful area surrounded by nature.

River Fun in the Mountain Sun

The house is a breathtaking structure that takes full advantage of the river views. The amenities are great, and the private river access puts the final touches on any trip. Great for a group of adults or a couple families. We would certainly return again next year.

Beautiful home, lovely view of the river

Loved this spacious home. The hot tub was blissfully hot. We were able to fully relax at this getaway from home. My only criticism was that the two queen mattresses probably need to be replaced as they both have valleys in their centers.

River View

This house is so awesome. Being on the River, activities for the kids, and all the levels of the house, and views were spectacular. The neighbor yard next to the gate is nasty and it smells of marijuana. Even that being said I would stay there again.

This was an ok getaway

The cabin was nice and the overall property was nice. Not sure if the cleaning crew left the doors open because when we arrived there were at least 20 flys all In The house. GROSS. But they probably came from the neighbors house at the top of the driveway. The surround homes were not kept up and trash all around. The home and property itself are secluded and very nice though.

Beautiful home in picturesque setting

My family of five had a fabulous time at this property. The house is large and the beds are comfortable. There are only two bedrooms but there's ample sleeping space available on the three couches. The bedrooms each have a queen bed with a twin bunk above it. That didn't work for my adult children, but could be ideal for families with little ones. The kitchen was outfitted with everything we could need. By the way, there is a gas grill available even though it's not listed in the amenities. A nice surprise! The owners provide beach chairs, inflatables, and towels to make your visit to the river easy. Speaking of the river, there are great views from the house and the sound of the river lulls you to sleep at night. We had such a nice time and are already looking forward to visiting again!

Corporate Host—Bad Communication and Empathy

I wish I could say I had a wonderful weekend enjoying the Trinity River; unfortunately, that is simply not the case. On June 17, twelve days before our trip, I went in for a routine OB appointment to find I was in labor at 27 weeks pregnant. As a Eureka local, I was immediately life flighted to UCSF where I remained the relate of pregnancy. I tried to reach out to Vacasa, the host of the property, and explain the situation to no avail. Many of the responses received were automated and impersonal whether via email, text, or phone. I shouldn’t have been surprised because when I reached out upon booking, I received a similar cookie cutter responses to questions that didn’t actually answer my questions at all. I let the host know more than a week in advance about my predicament. Although I knew there was little chance of receiving a refund, I also inquired about whether we could move the booking to another time next summer or even possibly in the autumn/winter off season. The only response I received was that I was looking for Vacasa to break policy which they absolutely would not do. Today I am still in San Francisco in the NICU where I will spend 2 months. I really wish I could have said something positive about this experience—but the host was simply too impersonal and lacked any semblance of human emotion for an emergency situation completely out of our control. While I understand policy, as a Humboldt local this is not how we treat our own.
