"This property is in a very central and convenient location if you are looking to travel both north and south for adventures. Check out the delicious Mediterranean restaurant across the street (Aladdin). There are no frills here, which is why the rate is low. Keep that in mind. We stayed for a week and left early morning and came back late at night. We really only used the bed, shower and mini fridge. The bed was not comfortable. By the last night we were sore. BUT….we knew the room cost was low. Upon arrival our room was clean and that’s a huge factor for us. Cleaning services are not provided during your stay. We kept our own room clean, removing dirty towels and getting clean ones from the front desk. We also emptied our own trash as needed. We requested supplies like shampoo and toilet paper from the front desk as needed as well. We were disappointed that the ice machine for the property was out of order requiring us to spend extra money each day for ice for our cooler. Also, note upfront that breakfast is not included. Just know that extras are not part of the booking here and you’ll be fine. The entire staff were friendly and helpful. There was adequate parking for us each day. We felt safe with the gated courtyard area. There is a pool and hot tub available, but we did not use these opting instead to go to beaches. We would come again and hope the next bed we get is more comfortable."

"We read some questionable reviews before staying here. I'm not sure if they reviewed the wrong property or what, because we have nothing but good things to say about this place. The rooms were extremely clean. Beds were comfortable. The lobby and restaurants looked very upscale. The pool area was wonderful. The pool was huge and they did a great job maintaining the area (lights all around, very island feel to the pool area). The staff was extremely helpful when we needed more washcloths. They delivered them to the room within minutes. When we went out in the morning, the staff came and cleaned again. The hotel is not brand new, but they have a done a fantastic job maintaining and updating it. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The sink area in the bathroom was a tad small and we did not have "sheer curtains" to pull over our windows if we didn't want the heavy blinds closed all day (we were on the first floor, so would have liked the sheer blinds to pull while we were in there during the day). Other than those small details, everything was spot on. If you are looking for an affordable, clean, well maintained place to stay in San Diego, stay here!!!!!!"
