Not very welcoming

It's as though the owner ordered the entire house from IKEA, and told them to furnish it like a freshman dormitory. The primary complaints are the layout and the lack of furnishings. There's no rug or runner, so you walk from the pool onto the cold, slippery tile. We had to buy everything except toilet paper. I get that sometimes there are no condiments, but this place had no salt, pepper, foil, pot holders, dish towels, storage containers, or sauce pan. There's virtually no prep space on the counter and the living room is just full of stuff that shouldn't be in there.We asked for a cooler, and one was delivered. It's not really a private house - more accurate would be "semi-private" as there are neighbors all around, and the owner sub-divided the place to make 2 rental units. You don't feel like you're welcome. It feels like you're in a compound, and the host doesn't trust you. Everytime you leave the house, the door locks behind you.
