Hotel suited our needs for a 2 night stay before a cruise. Clean room and bathroom. Air conditioning worked in our room and we had hot water. Hotel is in an urban, artsy area, check out the murals in the area. We walked to a nearby restaurant and did not feel unsafe. . The patio on the 3rd floor is great for reading and watching the sunset. Property has parking in the back. Front desk staff was very helpful. No elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs. It was easynfor us to drive from the hotel to Old San Juan and to El Yunque National Forest.

I am not one to post reviews often but was disappointed with our stay at Hotel Nest. I was in town for a bridal expo with my fiance and I wish this weekend wasn't tainted by our experience. We booked a flight plus hotel bundle through Expedia for two people from Florida to Puerto Rico. My aunt (who speaks Spanish and was translating for us at the expo traveled from the west coast of the island -- 2 hours) to help with our planning. Our plan was always for her to stay for only that night. When we got to the hotel we had to sign a policy of maximum 2 guests occupancy -- even for visiting! No where was that mentioned at booking. We were told we had to pay the equivalent of a full night's stay for my aunt to stay with us. But didn't offer us a room for her. This hotel has rooms with double beds, but only maximum 2 people? I would have booked elsewhere, had we'd known at booking - however it was no where mentioned on the Expedia booking process that only 2 people were allowed in each room. We ended up paying $200 and honestly felt schemed for more money. On top of that, there was still trash in the room, the internet / TV was not working, and there was no hot water in the shower at all. We mentioned this to the staff, who fought on our behalf to make accommodations for my aunt, the manager refused. We were also told the manager was going to call us, but never did. Important to note, this hotel is NOT IN SAN JUAN. It is in Rio Pedras, an area that felt unsafe, many homeless.

The staff was very nice. I had expressed that my dad is disabled and we would’ve liked a first floor room. In fairness the hotel wrote back to say that the ADA room would’ve cost $70 more and my parents opted to pass on the extra cost. When they arrived, they were assigned to the THIRD FLOOR! With no elevator, I’m disappointed that they already had the information and still placed them on the top floor. They could have at least assigned them the second floor room. The young lady in reception was so kind and took their luggage up for them and I am so grateful for her.

I honestly don’t even know where to start with Hotel Nest San Juan. Calling this a “hotel stay” is extremely generous. First off, there was no drinking water available. None. Not in the room, not offered by staff, nothing. Guests were essentially left to figure it out themselves. Then came the hot water situation — or lack of it. After a long day of travel, the last thing anyone expects is to step into a freezing shower because there’s no hot water. That’s basic hospitality 101. The building also has no elevator, which might be fine if it were clearly advertised — but it wasn’t. Watching elderly guests struggle up multiple flights of stairs with luggage was honestly uncomfortable. There was no luggage assistance offered either, which made the whole situation even worse. The biggest issue here is the misleading advertisement. The listing on Expedia does not accurately reflect the actual conditions of the property. Important details like the lack of elevator and basic amenities should be clearly disclosed so guests can make informed decisions. Overall, the experience felt poorly managed and poorly communicated. A hotel doesn’t need to be luxurious, but it should at least provide basic necessities and honest information. Extremely disappointing stay.

Dejaré este review en español para que los dueños del hotel lo lean y tomen cartas en el asunto. El hotel es muy bonito. Tiene buenos aires acondicionados, también buenas TV’s, es céntrico y si tienen 2 o 3 excelentes empleados con buena actitud, pero tienen un par de empleados jóvenes hombres que son malísimos. 1. Uno de esos empleados que conocí nos dejó sin el desayuno que están supuestamente a recoger a las 10am. Yo llegué a las con por lo menos 15-20min antes y aún viéndome que llegue, tuvo el valor de decirme… “como no venía nadie decidí levantar temprano”. Ese mismo empleado no leyó el mensaje de su colega que me extendió a habitación por 1 hora más y me llegó a sacar del cuarto. 😡 2. El día que hice check in, el individuo que me recibió no solo olvidó regresarme mi licencia (y eso me me causó problemas con la renta del carro en pr) sino que la noche que en llegué le escribí preguntándole si puedo conseguir una botella de agua para mi esposa que está embarazada... me dijo que el hotel no tiene agua y que a esas horas de la noche, la única opción era Uber eats... el próximo día una muchacha sonriente con que trabaja en la misma posición le pregunté dónde podía comprar agua y salió de ella misma preguntar qué cuántas botellas necesitaba y que ella me las podía obsequiar. Fue un contraste de actitud y de empleados. El servicio el cliente en Puerto Rico sigue estando por los pisos por individuos que siguen teniendo trabajo en los lugares equivocados.
