The staff here were very friendly and helping whenever needed. Best part is how close it is to San Juan. The neighborhood it's in can be sketch for some people, but try to believe me, you are good. The condition of the room could've been better. Spots on the couch, unkept rug, floor tiles lifting, ceiling peeling. None of it was eggrecious to a point we didn't feel comfortable, but more so details missed that can be improved. You also don't have a view out to anytign but an empty lot with graffiti on an abandoned building. BUT if you're looking for somewhere to simply sleep and change clothes, this is perfect. Lol honestly it's a very ok, 3/5, 5-6/10 place. You'll only be disappointed thinking you're staying at a Marriott. BRING YOUR OWN WASH CLOTHS AND TOWELS. Lol they run out fast.

I recently stayed at Hotel Puerto Valdés and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. At check-in, I specifically asked what perks were available with my Expedia Silver status, and I was offered a late checkout. I confirmed this as my selected benefit, so I planned my morning accordingly. However, the next day, my party was unexpectedly forced out of the room at 11:00 AM with no acknowledgment of the previously agreed late checkout. This was both frustrating and inconvenient, especially since it had already been discussed and confirmed. I had to call via WhatsApp since that’s the only way they respond, and was told it wasn’t their problem before they hung up on me. To make matters worse, we went to the front desk to get clarification and request a receipt, but no staff was present. We waited about 10 minutes, despite the hotel advertising 24/7 front desk service. This lack of availability and support only added to the frustration. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. Communication was poor, and the service did not match what was promised. I hope the hotel improves its guest communication and ensures staff availability moving forward.

Our flight arrived in San Juan at 1:00 am. at 11:30 pm the hotel sent a message that due to a problem in Old San Juan they had no water pressure. It was too late to find a new hotel and the hotel didn't offer a free cancellation option. They also said they had no hot water because they use solar hot water and blamed the recent weather. We had booked 12 months in advance to stay 1 night before a cruise. We never would have booked a hotel with no hot water. We wanted to shower off the airplane germs and board the cruise clean with a fresh shave. We paid $250 total for the hotel and they gave us back $75, When we booked the hotel we just wanted a safe and comfortable place to sleep and get ready for the cruise. We didn't need ocean front or a pool because we planned on spending 9 total hours at the hotel. We were very disappointed we didn't know about the solar water and chance of no hot water when we booked. We stayed in February. The hotel itself was very clean. The management was very nice and kind and tried to be helpful. I just wouldn't stay again because we will always be flying in for just one night before a cruise and want to be able to shower. A hot shower is very important to us to feel clean. We've acttualy never even stayed at a hotel with no hot water but we live in the USA and the hotels all have hot water there.

I absolutely loved my stay here and would definitely consider coming back. The staff was so nice and accommodating I even extended my stay. The beds are super comfortable and quiet peaceful sleep was greatly appreciated. Convenient front street parking was just icing on the cake.!

Our room was clean and very nice. That’s the only reason that I raided it a three star. The area it is in there is really nothing around unless you take a cab or you don’t mind walking into town they said they had a shuttle to the cruise port. That is false. We had cold water for showers at the best we could get it to lukewarm. The Jacuzzi upstairs on the roof the jets all had green on the vents, which is not healthy. They also did not have a shuttle to take you into town or the beach so make sure you have plenty of money for cabs unless you don’t mind the walk. The area right around the hotel is very rundown. We did walk and see the memorial park on our way into town. That was very nice. The staff were very friendly, but depending upon who you talk to you got different stories but as I said, our room was very nice. We booked this specifically so that we could go to the beaches. We knew we had transport to the pier and it would take us into town. None of that happened.

Hector and Malanie were exceptional in ensuring we had an amazing stay. Their hospitality is top-notch and they always made sure my daughter and I were taken care of. They recommended wonderful dining experiences as well as activities for the two of us. The hotel is gorgeous. My daughter and I ended up in the penthouse suite which was divine, but every room looked amazing. I am on my way to the airport to return home but I already want to turn back to spend one more night at Hotel Puerto Valdes. Thank you Hector and Malanie (wishing you luck in school, you’re so close to graduating with a journalism degree) for being such amazing people. I will miss you both.

The staff is very friendly, the rooms clean.however, there was no hot water during our stay; the first room had water pouring in thru a light fixture in the ceiling. We packed up all our things and were moved to the penthouse suit. Again, no hot water. Again, the television would come on by itself during the night, till I unplugged it. Attempting a cold bath in the jacuzzi, I was met with a torrent of black bits of ? From the jets.Tried heating water on the stove top for a warmer bath- stove top not working either. Bathroom door could not be closed, and the elevator seemed to have mechanical problems- fortunately not while we were in it. We were not offered a rebate and Expedia would only give us $225 credit- not a refund for our hassles. Sara Cook

The staff was AMAZING. Hector, Melony, Michael, EVERYONE was amazing. They went out of their way to make our stay exquisite and make sure we were comfortable. They even helped us find some fun restaurants and have other great advice. The rooms were also amazing, in my opinion it's the perfect room for a small family. Had a large comfortable bed and 2 pull out couches. Everything was perfect. Thank you Melony, Hector, Michael and the GM, and all others who make up Hotel Puerto Valdés.
