Less than satisfied
We rarely write negative reviews. In fact, we take the time to write reviews when a host has done a great job. This isn't an attempt to slander the experience, but an attempt to provide constructive feedback on very necessary improvements for future guests.
Positives: The boat owner allowed us check in early, which was a huge help in allowing us drop off our bags before taking our rental car back to the garage. He even offered us a beer upon check in.
Improvement areas:
There was only one towel provided for 2 guests, and that towel was very worn. Additionally, I asked if there were any spare towels we could bring to the beach. Sol declined because he didn't want sand in the boat. This is fair but we suddenly felt awkward about going to the beach, while staying at a marina, for fear we would bring back sand, which is forbidden. This was a strange experience.
Under amenities, the yacht states air conditioning as an amenity. There was no air conditioning. There was a fan which didn't do much to keep the cabin cool. It was a very uncomfortable night. One of us couldn't sleep and had to sleep outside on deck for an hour or two before returning back to the stuffy cabin.
Overall, some small investments, like a more powerful fan, some new towels, and less awkwardness around beach activities while staying on the water, might all be appreciated by future guests.
The owner was nice though.
