The Rising Sun! - Private Island Getaway

Wake up in paradise! Enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony with a spectacular view. This apartment is located on a private island, 5 minutes off the coast of Fajardo. Fully equipped complex with 2 pools, basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court, picnic areas and laundry. Harbor Cafe is the restaurant on the private island, which is open Wednesday to Sunday. Get ready to enjoy breath taking sunrises and sunsets from the large balcony!

Guest Access -
Guests must park in private lot ($6) in front of pier and take ferry across to Isleta Marina.
Ferry comes around about every 15 minutes.
Ferry hours:
Sunday-Thursday 6:30am - 10:30pm
Friday and Saturday 6:30am - 11pm
Must register with security guard upon arrival to Isleta Marina
Self check in with lockbox
$65 fee for lost key fob used for entrance into the complex

Isleat Marina

A friend I stayed at The Rising Sun, Isleta Marina one night. Our host, Jazmin, was easy to communiate with. The interior of the condo was clean, cute and well- maintained. There were ample supplies as described on the VRBO site. We were delayed in arriving so, unfortunately we didnt have much time there. S.ome areas on the property (pool area, some hallways) needed work. We knew there was a restaurant on the island and were planning on that for dinner. We didnt bring goceries for one night. We knew there was a restaurant but we didnt know it was closed due to contrrucon. Chips from the vending machine for dinner. Beautiful sunset.

Forced Relaxation

Due to the non-regular ferry schedule (or lack thereof), it is virtually impossible to schedule events off the island without leaving at least an hour to get to land. The small ferry being run for our first 3 days had a max passenger limit of 6, so it was quite common to have to sit and wait for the ferry to run and come back before your turn. It would also take unscheduled breaks that added unexpected delays. Once we became aware that this was how things ran, we actually relaxed and just let life happen and by our 3rd day, we were as laid back as the locals... The space is perfect and the property is beautiful from a distance; there is much hurricane damage still and ongoing repair work daily. Quite noisy, but not too early. All in all a great getaway in Fajardo!!

Apartment was comfortable and had great views. I would suggest an upgrade to the bedding sheets. Keep in mind that the only way of getting to the apt is via ferry boat. Which stops working at 10:30pm and starts again around 6:30am. So you will have to do your schedule around such.

We enjoyed our stay at the property. The views from the unit were breathtaking. The islet is a short drive to Seven Seas and Luquillo beaches which were wonderful.

Absolutely peaceful and wonderful!!! Great communication. Unfortunately the cafe was not open during our stay but that posed no problem with us. I suggest plan ahead and be stocked on beer or what not. The regular ferry that carries many people was down for repair/inspection, but they utilized a barge. This is not common. The only bad thing to that was they could only transport 5-6 at a time. Our stay was 100 percent awesome !!!

Great place to escape hussle and bustle.

The space was exactly as described. Getting to the island was easy as can be. Island is very quiet and peaceful. If you’re looking to get way from a busy life this is a great place. Our trip was very short, but the apartment was exactly what we needed.

Family Vacation

I traveled with 3 kids and they loved it. It’s a beautiful island with lots to do. The host was amazing and the Condo was beautiful.The area is safe and everyone is very welcoming. I highly recommend for families traveling. They have a Cafe on premises that has great food and drinks and amazing atmosphere.

Great stay on the island!

We had a great stay at The Rising Sun. The condo was clean, everything worked and the view from the balcony was excellent. Our kids had a great time snorkeling and riding the kayak right out front of the condo. The pool was also very big and a hit with them. The boat ride to the island was quick and fun and check in was easy. Was very quiet and peaceful on the island. Wish we had more time to stay here!!

Rising Sun

Take a short, enchanting ferry ride over to the island. Once there, gaze out at the water while listening to the swaying palm trees. If you're up early enough, you'll witness sunrise over the water. The host is most gracious and responses immediately to any questions you have.

A paradise in paradise. Amazing view, nice breeze!

We are born in Puerto Rico and Fajardo is one of our favorite destinations. Just minutes from the Rain Forest, surrounded by beautiful beaches and delicious food everywhere. Overall, we had a good time at a reasonable price.
