We had a delightful stay at this beautiful apartment.
It is located on quite a busy (but safe) street across from the courthouse. Once inside the apartment it is very quiet and serene. The surrounding area is always filled with locals and extremely safe to walk around. In fact, out of all the European Cities, San Sebastian strike's me as one of the safest cities in Europe. Strolling around as a family with children at 10 or 11pm (which by the way is the norm here) felt perfectly safe.
The building is equipped with a double-entry, which places you inside the lobby appointed with double elevators. The apartment itself features plenty of natural light and a fully appointed kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, including a a washing machine.
Bedrooms are spacious for European standards with beautiful built in closets. Two full bathrooms have everything you need along with a bidet.
Upon arrival, pull up your car onto the sidewalk using the easement to off-load. It is perfectly acceptable, as long you do it promptly. It is much easier than dragging the luggage from the garage. You'll need to make a big loop across one of the bridges to get back to the garage across the street.
The apartment is is just 5-walking minutes away from all of the touristy stuff located near Zurriola Beach (renowned for its surfing). Plenty of Pintxo Bars near by to grab late night delicacies. The famous La Concha Beach and Older Part of Town with exquisite Pintxo Bars and the exceptional La Rampa restaurant is also a few minutes across one of the inlet bridges.
Garage is conveniently located across the street (Atotxa), which also features an underground grocery store. You probably won't need your car as walking this beautiful city is such a delight.
Grab your daily coffee and breakfast pastry at the local La Hora del Cafe coffee bar directly across the street. It is ran by two very hard working ladies who speak enough English (as most people here do) to make it a very pleasant experience.
Just down the street is the small but beautiful Cristina Enea Park. It is wonderful for morning runs, with numerous hilly trails and a kid playground.
If you get tired of the tourists in all of the restaurants, visit one of many great local restaurants just around the corner off of Egia Kalea. Try Garraxi for amazing Vegeterian Food. I am a die hard carnivore, but this place absolutely rocked. The depth and layers of flavors were exceptional.
Most of all this apartment allows you to mingle with the locals who are all exceptionally friendly and willing to help...Enjoy!
