This rental was perfect for our family of 5. We had hoped to have some friends join us, but it ended up just being us. Everyone had plenty of room to spread out and we found everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were glad to have wi-fi, since we weren’t sure whether or not to expect it. The weekend shuttle service to the ski area worked great! On the weekdays, however, we choose to drive since the shuttle doesn’t operate. We tried the ski in/out trail one day but it was a bit challenging for our kids (and mom even did a face plant!)....maybe there is a better way that we didn’t know about? There wasn’t any information at the condo about the ski in/out process. We would definitely stay here again!
What a fun space - made us wish we had our own condo on the mountain! Fantastic location, wonderful amenities and great communication from the seller! If you're contemplating this spot for your next trip to Schweitzer, don't hesitate to book!
We really enjoyed this property! Located very close to the village and very spacious. Any issues we had, Dan was very quick to fix! Would highly recommend this property! Thank you Dan!
Thank you to Dan Baker for sharing his cozy/classy condo, a great home base from which to discover North Idaho. The three grandkids found the multi-story arrangement to be part of the adventure, and it was no problem for our mid-30s sons. I do have to admit it was a good workout for Grandpa and me. Great Grandma was a trooper. We only made her climb the first set of stairs to the living area once each day, and she was comfortable to sleep there so never had to climb further. We all slept comfortably and the bathrooms were all very clean, roomy and functional. We did note that one of the toilet seat hinges on the 2nd floor bathroom was broken, but it didn't cause a problem for us as we had to install a riser there for Great Grandma anyway. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with dishes, cookery and utensils. We did not find replacement supplies of either paper towels or toilet paper, so we bought some and left them for the next family, plus some coffee and popsicles we didn't use up. The ice-maker wasn't hooked up, and there has been a little existing damage to one of the floorboards from a slow water leak still happening from under the fridge. The barbeque cover had been left on the balcony floor, so it and the barbeque trays were pretty dirty. I washed the barbeque exterior with hot soapy water, and I put the cover on before we left, and in the process found a trash bag full of a previous renter's soiled baby diapers still hanging from the rail post hidden behind the barbeque. We hauled it to the dumpsters with our own trash when we left. In response to someone's earlier review about the heat: Our first night we were pretty miserable until about 2:00 a.m., but it is July and we didn't arrive and open the place up until evening. The rest of our stay, with no storms in the forecast, we left upper story windows open all day and the place stayed very comfortable. Yes there are many windows without screens, and yes there were some bugs attracted to the light after dark, but only a few moths and "mosquito eaters" (and one lone mosquito with a death wish. He got his wish.) There is a huge supply of DVDs, watchable on the ground floor only, but you can stream movies in the second floor living room or the third floor master bedroom. We enjoyed our stay very much, so thanks again to our host!
Great location, a few issues but overall not too bad!
We spent Labor Day weekend at this property with our 4 kiddos, a dog and my brother in law. This was a great place for our group, there was lots of space for us all to spread out and not feel cramped or on top of each other. The location was wonderful, a quick drive up to the Resort and a short walk to a pub!
The good: Well decorated and well stocked! It had all the kitchen ware we needed and then some! Lots of towels and linens, games and movies! it's nicely laid out. We enjoyed putting the 2 teens boys downstairs, the 2 younger kids in the "bunk room" and my brother in law in the guest queen and husband and I in the master! The powder room was great to have an 2 bathrooms were definitely a plus! It was dog friendly which is great and hard to find! Our pup had fun!
The bad: it was very hot in the condo and the AC didn't cool the house off at all. It got up to 80 degrees in the house 1 day! We opened the windows to find out that only about 1/8 of the windows actually had screens on them. So we were letting bugs in with the windows open which isn't ideal. The ceiling fans in the rooms helped some, but the guest queen fan was shaking/rocking so bad it looked like it was going to fall down! The queen guest bed was not very comfortable but we didn't have any problems with the master bed. When we arrived it smelled like dog- which is natural in a dog friendly house so not too surprised by that! There were no paper towels or toilet paper in the house, so my husband ran to the Walmart the next morning to stock the house up. That was a bit frustrating. The freezer leaked a little water on the floor occasionally, the house looked like it hadn't been dusted in months. Lots of dust build up on the blinds, the entertainment center, etc....there were mouse droppings behind the pull out couch downstairs and under the kitchen sink. There was also about 2 bags of trash/garbage piled up in the garage. There was a maintenance couple? on Saturday morning on the back deck of the property scraping and repainting the porch...? Thought that was odd for 8:00am on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend....they were nice but didn't really enjoy a man on the back patio painting while I was working out in the living room!
Overall the house met our needs and was in a great location for enjoying the mountain and the the town of Sandpoint. It's spacious and well laid out. It needs some up keep - proper cleaning and some updates/touch ups would do wonders for the rental!
This is an amazing rental-- probably one of the best we have ever stayed at. The property owner was fast to communicate with us with any questions we had. The floor plan is amazing. So many options for people to sleep and hang out. Our teens hung out on the bottom level most nights. It was comforting, clean, and beautiful On a side note there were a few Christmas items up which was fantastic for us... a family on a vacation during the summer...during a pandemic...it filled us with the exciting memories of the season. If we stay in this area again we will for sure rent again from this owner! Fantastic. Thank you!
Great place in a perfect spot! We were very comfortable all weekend and even found a cozy pub, St Bernard, right around the corner. Dan was wonderful, too. We would stay here again!
This house was so cozy. The master (king size) beds was so comfortable! Finishes have all been updated and very nice. Communication with the owner was great. I will be sad to leave.
The condo was great, had everything we needed and was clean. It’s right at the Schweitzer Resort and we saw several deer and even a mama moose and baby moose.
We had a great stay. The condo was great and perfect for our family. Our only complaint would be that we would prefer the traditional check in/out times of 3:00 and 11. But we would definitely stay here again.
a couple things could be improved but overall we had a wonderful time
we had a great experience, with a few hiccups. the ski in ski out was challenging and there were power outages region-wide both mornings but we made the best of it. I communicated with the owner about possible improvements and he was great to work with from the time I made the reservation through the end, very quick to respond and hospitable. very cozy place, with lots of nice touches. The bedrooms were great, and bathrooms clean and modern. We spent most of our time around the kitchen table eating and drinking and laughing.. Not many places allow dogs, and that really made our trip special to be able to have our puppy doggy with us the whole time.
Great home! Owners were very easy to communicate with, and quickly answered any questions. You can tell this this is a home, and not simply a “rental” unit. Lots of appliances, dishes, etc. Plenty of room for our 2 families (4 adults, 3 teens).
This is the perfect arrangement for a large family or group. You have plenty of room. The grand-kids enjoyed having their own space and watching movies on the lower level. There is plenty to do even in July. (Huckleberry picking, hiking and taking the chairlift to the top for the spectacular view, just to name a few.) We were lucky to see a Moose and her baby right outside the balcony.
Dan was very quick to respond to any questions we had. It truly was an enjoyable stay.
We had a great stay. The home was clean, spacious and convenient.
We never did receive any instructions from VRBO about check in or out. The homeowner promptly responded when we reached out.

A great space for our family
Our family of 8 rented this condo for a ski vacation in February. This home had lots of space to gather together the 8 of us and also had space for people to escape each other! It had some beautiful views of the ski runs from the windows. So location and the condo's set up for space and comfort was very good. Drawbacks: Very steep driveway to get up to the garage and it was icy. We had rented a 4-wheel SUV to make the drive up possible but still had to make quite a few runs to make it up. After a snow fall it was easier. So be prepared to maybe have to park below the condo and haul things UP. In the instructions the owner sent us there was to be a free shuttle pick up 'at the door' by calling a number located on the inside of the first top cabinet in the kitchen. We found no number but did find a FREE SHUTTLE number on the refrigerator which I called. It was only a recording talking about their free shuttle service but nothing about a shuttle picking us up. I tried calling the owner and his voice mail was full so no help there. And then left a message from him on the VRBO page. Still no help. The only choice we had was to walk UP to the village. We were worried about taking the car since we didn't know if we could make it back up the driveway. The beds in the 'bunk room' were very uncomfortable for us adults. Didn't seem to bother the kids. Better mattresses would be a good addition. Despite these problems everyone thought the place was perfect for housing us all. We had a great time and the snow and weather was perfect!

Schweitzer Lodging
Five of us stayed here for a five day visit to Schweitzer. There was ample room for all, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed for eating in. There are limited on mtn options for dining so having a good working kitchen was very nice. There is a 2 car garage but it probably won't fit 2 large SUV's. We had a Subaru Forester and Chevy Traverse. It was a snug fit but doable.
Ski in ski out is possible, you have to do a little adventuring to find the routes.
Communication with the owner was good. Check in/out was very easy, directions to the condo were easy to follow. This was our second visit to Schweitzer and it keeps getting better!

Nice place, affordable, short walk to ski in/out
Nice place, well kept. Close to slopes so short walk to ski in/out. Handled our family with plenty of space.
