The room had a writing desk with printed stationery, a built-in international plug socket and cabled internet, a nightstand with a built-in radio and a pen and notepad by the phone, and a bathroom with a phone and a bottle opener attached to the wall. Even the cleaning staff wore the maid outfits with the cute little bonnets. Live the glory days at Okura Niigata."

"Highly recommend the Hotel Sunroute Niigata. It is convenient to the train station with many bars, parking options and restaurants nearby. Google translate the street parking lots if you don't use the hotel garage. Some have deals with the hotel where you pay a lower rate for overnight parking. I had great service from the hotel staff who helped me with figuring that out and saving a lot of money. We really enjoyed our visit to Niigata and Hotel Sunroute was the right place for us! "

"This is a Japanese business style hotel in Tsubamesanjo. It was very close to the train station, but also had a free parking lot. The room was small but adequate. The bathroom was very tiny. The beds were Western style but lower than normal and the mattresses were quite firm, as were the buckwheat-filled pillows. The buffet breakfast had some hot items (poached eggs, sausage, potato fritters, etc.) as well as rice and grilled fish. They make their own croissants, which were good. In all a clean safe place to stay which is close to the train station. "
