This hotel needs serious help!
First I have to say the staff are incredible. Adriana went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy during the entirety of our stay, and all of the staff made such an effort to help us out at every turn.
We were first shown to a room that was not what we booked- what we got was a room on the ground floor, filled with scorpions and hundreds of insects with absolutely no view at all. To make matters worse you anyone could just walk past the shower, you could not close it off.
There was not even any soap in the bathrooms, you are not allowed to use hairdryers or any other hair styling implement due to the hotel not producing enough solar electricity, the WiFi didn’t work in the rooms, the toilet roll was simply put in the wardrobe, there was no way of contacting anyone from the room... the list is endless. There are no real pathways around the hotel, only dangerous unlit dirt tracks that I actually slipped down in my flip flops walking from the pool. To get out takes a 25 min hike, and there are no taxis at night to get back. The hike is totally dark and the hotel recommends you don’t walk, but if you do find a taxi they charge 150 mx at night. Since you can’t get out you have to eat hotel food but there is a very limited menu (5 items lunch & dinner is the same) and the quality really varies. The architecture is beautiful but it feels like the owners need a crash course in being hoteliers. We got a discount and still feel robbed.
