The staff was the best part of the trip. Everyone was exceptionally nice and welcoming. The room didn’t look like it was cleaned properly. The food for someone who is Colombian/American wasn’t what I expected. I loved the people outside in back of the hotel where the beach, they were selling souvenirs. It was good for the price.

When I read the reviews I was somewhat nervous about my choice but I found that for the price the place was terrific. I think some folks are just too spoiled. The only minor complaint was the way dinner reservations had to be made..... MR

I came in about noon and they only offer soft drinks we have to wait at 6Pm to eat something - no transportation from airport and after checkout no transportation to the airport- in the bar few options of drinks- absolutely I do not recommend this hotel

Las habitaciones lindas, limpias, ordenadas, buena presion de agua. buena vista. el personal de recepcion amable y servicial. La playa bonita. Esta mal organizado es muy complicado reservar las cenas, hay que hacerlo basicamente en la aplicacion entre las 6 am y 7 am, luego ya solo queda disponible el itialiano que es el pero restaurante del lugar. Hay que hacer fila para todo. pocos bares, la calidad de bebidas es pesima, en la habitacion no te ponen ni una cerveza jamas. El vino de carton que se puede pedir en las cenas, es malisimo y te sirven un medio vaso. La comida es muy repetitiva y de calidad baja. El restaurante de carnes es el unico que vale la pena. Las cenas son a las 9 y los shows que duran solo 30 minutos, estan mal coordinados, ya que el show es 9 y 30. asi que uno termina de cenar a las 10 y 15 mas o menos y ya es imposible llegar. la otra opcion es quedarse sin comer e ir a ver el show. solo hay un bar abierto en la noche en todo el complejo. la discoteca es una hueco que parece salido de los barrios bajos de un suburbio, ahi no tienen cerveza por cierto. es barato $130 por persona la noche, pero la verdad no vale la pena. en 5 dias si llegue a tomar 5 cervezas y 5 cocteles es mucho. y no porque no quisiera mas, pero hacer filas largas, tener que cruzarme todo el hotel no vale la pena. tiene potencial por la zona donde esta, pero esta muy mal administrado. otros Decameron como los de San Andres o el de Mompiche estan a un nivel muy superior. nunca volve

For the price its not worth it at all, bars are very far from public areas, be ready to walk up and down the stairs, restaurants at tnight, very good food, breakfast and lunch buffet, very incomplete, not as good taste! Totally recomend the steak house and the seafood restaurant

The property has lots of potential but when you think all inclusive at the beach you expect more hands on service. The drinks are given in small cups and you have to go the bar, what ever happened to waiters at the pool or beach. So you are often running back and forth.The pool is often over populated. Food is offered constantly with a catch you also have to fetch it at various areas of the property. I guess if you have never been to an all inclusive with top notch service this like a great place. But I was sadly disappointed. There were some stand outs the service from the kids events coordinator Yulie she was awesome. At the buffet there was Señor Lucho serious the reasons why we enjoyed our stay.

The check in is at 3:00 pm if you go earlier you have to pay more to stay and receive the service, it is not fair because you paid ( it is not cheaper) and you have to pay more.

Muy mal servicio. No se lo recomiendo a nadie.

Muy mal servicio en general. Me cobraron un monto considerable por la estancia y a pesar de ello me cobraron por Wifi y la caja de seguridad de la habitación. Debo viajar con frecuencia y no recuerdo haber tenido que pagar aparte por Wifi desde hace varios años.

DON'T STAY at Decameron Galeon Santa Marta Colombi

This was the worst hotel experience I've had in years. Beyond disappointing especially for the price. We paid $350/night for a family of 3, all inclusive. Start to finish, bad. Although the pols were open until 8 pm, the towel cabana closed at 5 pm, so by the time we got out to the pool, we could not get towels. There were only 2 shower towels in our room with 4 beds, we had to request more. They gave us only 1 room key (old school actual key, not card key), and claimed they had no extra copies. There was no WI FI in the hotel, except in the lobby, so we could not even contact each other to find each other around the property. WI FI was expensive, and only good for one device at a time. The bar had a line out the door, and the drinks were watery and weak. The FOOD...so bad. It was buffet. All the fish had been sitting in the steamer tins for hours. There were no desserts left. I asked for red wine, and I got a teeny glass of wine from a box. I finally complained to the manager. Fortunately my Spanish is good enough to present my complaints. They finally got me an extra key by taking the cleaning lady's key! Even worse- all the other families were dealing with the same lack of keys, so when we were trying to rest in our room, families were sitting on the steps outside our paper-thin front door, waiting for their ONE key-holder to return and let them into their room. Honestly, I can't see how this hotel remains in business.
