Shorewalk Condos are in a nice location and grounds and amenities were well kept. Found some issues in this condo unit.
Turned down the bed at night and found the sheets were worn, pilled and rough. They are past due to be replaced. we found another set of sheets in the closet and went to change the bed. The 2nd set of sheets had blood stains on them that were not cleaned out. Finally found 3rd set of sheets to use. The owner did offer that we could go to Walmart and buy new sheets to be reimbursed. It was just a bother late at night to find worn out and dirty sheets and need to deal with it. Owner or cleaning company should have handled it prior.
Keep all food in sealed bags. There was an ant issue in the kitchen. They got in to some of our food items and we needed to throw it out. We did find spray under the sink and sprayed the kitchen down. Owner was notified. They were going to contact pest control.
The wifi speed was extremely slow and not anywhere near what was advertised. We were working from the unit so good wifi was important to us. Contacted the owner Sunday and they contacted cable company. The wifi download was 4Mbps and upload was 1Mbps, but were expecting somewhere near 100Mbps based on the website. We waited for cable guy on Tuesday and he came to do work but failed to fix it. Owner called cable company again. We waited for a second time on Wednesday. Cable guy showed up while we ran to pick up lunch and the owner gave him a door lock code to enter the unit. We returned to find him in the unit and we frightened him as well he did us. We were concerned that the owner provided the lock code to the cable guy to enter the unit by himself without contacting us to ask. We were only out about 10 minutes. Visitor security should be considered by the owner and we found this concerning.
You can not speak to the owner on the phone or in person. They only communicate through email/vrbo messaging. Considering the issues I was contacting them on, I would have expected better customer service through a phone call. I offered my cell number but never got a call. They did respond to messages, and did manage the issues, but it was more difficult using a chat and a bit slower than if we spoke. It also felt impersonal and as if there is not as much care and concern for the visitors.
So the unit was ok, some items needed updating or replacing. The Shorewalk condos are nice. Maybe stay at Shorewalk but better to find a different unit to stay at.
