"A place of pro's and con's... - location - middle of old town - very quiet and good location. - easy to access, key locker worked well - Flat had been well cleaned, EXCEPT for the toilet seat which had accumulated many months of yellow stain on both sides... needed cleaned properly with bleach/ anti-bacterial. The shower is also getting a little cold around it.. - The room was big enough for the double bed and sofa bed. However, no way would I try 4 people in there are the bathroom is so small...

"We had a wonderful stay at the Lakeview studio during our recent stay in Switzerland. The view looking out the windows of the apartment was absolutely stunning. The apartment had a great list of amenities, the kitchen was very well stocked. Although we were surprised at the absence of a microwave oven. We are a couple of senior citizens. It was a bit of a challenge to get from the car park to the apartment building, there were three sets of stairs going from the car park into the apartment...

"Excellent service, a beautiful old building and a great location. The room was clean and quiet, even on the lake view side, which is on a busy street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property is a 25 minute walk along the beautiful lake path or a short bus ride from the center. Breakfast was fresh and very nice, especially the special poached egg dish. One suggestion I would make is better lighting in the rooms. There is a ceiling chandelier but bright, jarring bare bulb fixtures by each bed. Those need a lampshade or something more directional. There was also no lights near the bathroom mirrors so shaving and makeup, etc. are difficult. Also the bathroom had a window with only a sheer curtain so for privacy you have to pull down the exterior metal shade, which blocks natural light into the room. If the lighting conditions don’t bother you, this is a great place. Would stay again."

While it possesses a favorable location, the quality of the food at 3 of the 4 restaurants has been unsatisfactory, the pricing is excessively high, and the service standards are significantly below average. "Our stay at Hotel des Balances was exceptional from the moment we arrived. We traveled during the railroad strike coming from Italy, and Vanessa at reception immediately brought a sense of calm and reassurance during what could have been a very stressful arrival. Our reservation was fully prepared, check-in was seamless, and the professionalism shown by the staff throughout our stay never wavered. The room itself was spectacular. Beautifully maintained, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared with personal touches that made the experience feel welcoming and refined. The view was truly outstanding, and the double French doors opening onto the balcony added the perfect touch each morning. Waking up to that atmosphere made the stay feel even more special. The location could not have been better. Everything was within walking distance, including the train station, restaurants, shopping, and the waterfront, making it incredibly easy to enjoy Lucerne. The level of care shown by the hotel team stood out once again when we received notice the night before departure that our flight had been rescheduled. The staff handled the situation with professionalism, patience, and genuine attentiveness, allowing us additional time in the room to ease the stress of the unexpected delay. Hotel des Balances delivers an elevated experience through its exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and prime location. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lucerne, as well as returning"
