Our room is okay. I'll shower broke whilst we were there and had to get it fixed and our toilet kept overflowing. The room was fine and comfortable but the breakfast was not great at all , eggs well and truly over cooked and cold !! Staff not very helpful or happy to be honest apart from the bag boys !!

Basic room but felt like 1970s Butlins. Room was clean. Pool was good. Breakfast was bad - fried eggs were probably cooked yesterday and cold. Hotel grounds were dirty. Lots of rubbish on the site which had clearly been there a long time. Convenient location for Langkawi ferry and walking street. Service was just about ok. Overall expensive for what we got. Nicer hotels for a little more money eg Akira

Great place for a vacation. Right on the main beach main drag. Good cafes and bars right next door. Plus, the tours pick up from the lobby.

A good stay at the Varin. The location is excellent. Pool was nice. Water pressure great and plenty hot water. It was an excellent location. We probably would stay here again.

Nice hotel for a good price. Good breakfast in comparison to other hotels in Thailand. Reception is only open certain hours which is a minus though.

Koh Lipe- Amazing

Great place and convenient to the pier drop off point. Dada at the front counter check in is so kind and helpful we decided to stay another 3 days. Thank you Dada and crew! Keep up the good work!

Excellent location with a lovely pool and good breakfast selection. Our son’s mattress was very hard and only had a thin sheet so he was freezing with the air con. Had to pay extra for a decent blanket.

Awful ”resort” only good was location

Only nice was the location. No room cleaning for 1 week, had to chase them to grt new towels. Awful check in experience.. all in all, no good value for your money

Worth the money

Convenient - at the beach, steps away from the ferry dock. Great breaskfast options except for the really long queue for coffee as yhere is only one coffee machine for real coffee asidde from instant. Next to the walking - all in all good place.

We stayed at this resort for four nights—three in a Villa and one in a basic room. While the Villa was comfortable and enjoyable, the basic room didn’t quite meet our expectations for the price. It felt overpriced, likely due to Koh Lipe’s popularity. If you’re planning to visit, I’d highly recommend booking in advance to get better value for your stay. Overall, the resort is decent, but pricing could be more reasonable.

The room we had was not only made of paper, but the walls were bubbling and needed repair. Room was musty, and check in is a nightmare. You may want to think about, precheck so everyone doesng need to do it at once. Breakfast, location and pool are definitely the high points. Due to Chinese New Year it was so hard to find a place, but have definitely stayed at cheaper and better on the island. But location is Great!

We traveled over Christmas with a party of 8 - 3 generations in a family. We had a positive experience on arrival. Staff were friendly and helpful however we specifically asked for downstairs rooms on booking as we traveled with our 85 years old mother. Rooms were all upstairs with no downstairs available but they did offer to swap our rooms the next day. We were offered to change but the room was too far from the rest of our party. They did organise a wheelchair which was very helpful. The rooms were clean apart of coffee stains on the furniture. But BE AWARE if you are booking a room for 3 or more as the extra ‘bed’ is a 8” foldable mattress on the floor! For 85 years old person! We tried to book another room but unfortunately there were no vacancies it at least the let us have an extra mattress to build the bed up a bit. This was going to carry a charge of 200 B but it was waived. Bit disappointed in leaving as during our stay one of the plastic balcony chairs literally fell apart as it was already cracked and old and they were trying to make us pay 500 B which we did not as it happened to my daughter who ways about 50kg and she hurt her back in the process. All in all we loved Koh Lipe. The staff at the hotel were lovely and it was clean but we would choose another place to stay next time.

Room was a good size and clean enough but the grounds were dirty and scruffy. Staff were so unfriendly and u helpful. Checkin took 45 minutes. One person had an issue with his room an the receptionist pretended she didnt understand English even though she had just been having a perfect convention with another person in English 2 minutes priorr to his complaint. The location is great but i th island is that small it doesnt matter whwreyou stay pool also only has 8 beds even though it has 100s of guests so unless u get there at 8am there is no piint using it

At check it was so nice to be greeted by very happy staff special praise to Pum and Dada, they were amazing. Now for the downside there were only 3 umbrellas around the pool area 2 of which were broken so very little or no shade. The sunbeds didn't have cushions on them they were so hard it was difficult to lay on them for more than 5 minutes. A lack of rubbish bins around the pool, at times trash was left anywhere as there was no bins. Finally my biggest concern. The coffee machine in the restaurant of which there is only 1 is no better than useless. Everyday there are people queuing just for a cup of coffee. To finish would I stay at the Varin Resort again, Yes, definitely. Brilliant location and amazing staff.

a good place to stay if you want to stay close to the pier. And the hotel is very close to the walking street. The restaurant during the breakfast time is very busy. You have to be very patient just to get one cup of coffee.

Spend a bit more, and stay somewhere better!

Spend the extra money and stay somewhere better. This hotel has a great location but nothing else. Unhelpful reception, pool is the bare minimum and for some reason not built on the beach, complimentary breakfast is so bad, we skipped the last 2 of 4 days.
