It was all about the River Inn double booking my room with river view and trying to move me to a basement room. I have to cancel and rebook another hotel.

I checked into the property and gave the front desk a credit card for incidentals. The immediately charged my card $1,500 for the whole stay without even telling me the total or that they were running my card. We discovered it because my amex card gives me alerts for large purchases. I had PREPAID my room through Expedia. I have used Expedia for at least 20 years all over the world and NEVER had this happen. When I told the front desk I prepaid they said "this happens a lot" then told me to talk to the manager tomorrow. I talked to a different front desk girl and the manager was "busy" and never bothered to come talk to me. They said they fixed it and the hold would eventually fall off my card. I am in a position where I can handle a large hold but what if I did not have the spending power on my card to accomidate? That is not a small amount and could have limited or ruined someones spending power on their vacation. When I asked if it was cleared up at check out the front desk person said I could alway prove I paid with my credit card. I have never had such horrible customer service at a hotel before. I don't feel they meet up to Expedia standards. They also had loud construction going on right outside our room. We had to walk through plastic and other patrons called to complain about morning loud noise. I have in the past received emails warning me about construction and were very considerate from hotels I booked with you. I now find myself less confident booking with you.

Great location. Room was overall nice. Housekeeping was “limited” as they did not provide full service each day. Fan and air vents were dirty.

We absolutely love the old charm but just keep in mind that the hotel is under construction so if you don’t mind a little extra noise in the morning and some workers around it is wonderful. It is going to be absolutely beautiful when the renovation is complete.

Savannah is historically amazing and the River Street Inn is beautiful, unique and the staff are wonderful and very helpful. We arrived at 11:00 and could check in which was super. The renovational work is truly amazing and there is an active workshop on premises making many new upgrades and changes. Just the BEST Sue C.

Good location. Very dark room.
Lack of information about the recent flood that really made the stay not worth the price. Couldn’t use the room deck area, other amenities unavailable but not explained.
It will be nice when the repairs are completed.
