Great house and location

I stayed here with four other ladies for a girls weekend and it was perfect. Several great hang out areas both inside and outside and everything was so cutely decorated. Nice location so close to the beach and several great restaurants. Check-in was super easy and we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

It’s a charming house. Light sleepers should know that there are train tracks nearby and sometimes a train or two may go by and use their horn at night. That is apparently common in the area, though.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Amazing house close to beaches, parks and downtown New Buffalo. Our family really enjoyed our stay. Quite enough room for 5 adults. We took advantage of the screened in porch and the hot tub. Would definitely return to the Harbert Hideaway!

great weekend getaway near the beach

Great spot and great space for a weekend getaway with the girls. About a mile walk to the beach everything you need is available, like a wagon , chairs , towels etc. Nice antique stores nearby and bakeries, coffee shops etc. We enjoyed strawberry picking about 20 minutes away and also a Saturday farmers market. Tonya the property manager was very responsive to questions and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Just What The Soul Needed

The owners really went all in to make this space The pefect retreat whether you're a family or like us, 6 friends that have lived, learned, and loved together for 40 plus years. You could use this space as a soulful retreat or making memories for a lifetime! Plenty to do or plenty of zen to refill your bucket. The hosts made sure everything you need for comfort, cooking, activities, or to refill your cup is right at your fingertips. Highly recommend if you're looking for a wonderful getaway- this is your place! We're already looking at the calendar for next year for our annual girls trip!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time staying here over the July 4th weekend. The screened in porch and backyard were great places to hang out. The house had Very cute decor with some neat vintage pieces and adorable added touches, even down to the toilet paper. It was longer than a ten minute walk to the beach, more like 20-25, but a very quick drive. It was very clean and well maintained, and had everything we might have needed. An extra fan, extra throw blankets in the living room, spices for cooking. The nearby bakery had good treats and this was not far from several local restaurants. We all very much enjoyed our 3 day stay here and hope to return!

We were very disappointed with our experience at this property. While the home itself was as expected, and the homeowners put great care and thought into making the space comfortable, we had an incredibly negative interaction with the neighbors and property manager that overshadowed the stay.Our group of women was enjoying a relaxing evening in the hot tub, laughing and talking—nothing excessive—around 10pm. Within a span of 10 minutes, I missed five phone calls, texts, and an email (my phone wasn’t with me at the time). The property manager then came to the home around to the back of the house unannounced (we did scream at this point as we we so alarmed of a stranger scaring us), was aggressive in tone, yelling herself, threatened us with police involvement and stormed off.Apparently, this is a recurring issue with the neighbors, who complain about any outdoor noise past 10pm. If you’re looking for a peaceful, stress-free rental where you can enjoy the outdoor space after dark—even quietly—this is not the place.We’ve stayed at over 20 vacation rentals across the country and have never encountered this level of overreaction or hostility from a property manager. Would not recommend for anyone planning to spend any evening time outside.
