Not So Great Urban Eacape

Great views. Hot tub was nice. House could benefit from a deep clean and replied with essentials in kitchen and baths

Bueatiful house in need of upkeep

The house is beautiful with a lovely garden. Other than the stove, there are issues with many of the appliances and outlets and the house is missing standard things like can openers. We would definitely love to stay again though!

Wonder largeful house for a reunion

Seven of us converged for a 50th reunion of our first meeting in college. Urban escape had as good a layout for a larger group like ours as you will find at The Sea Ranch. Everything was ready for us on arrival. The house was clean and the kitchen well stocked. Both hot tubs worked like a charm. Really could not ask for more. This property is managed by V*A*C*A*S*A. They handled all the site logistics and have their own booking service as well.

Urban Escape is a lovely Sea Ranch-y home

The Urban Escape is a thoughtfully appointed, comfortable, lovely place to stay, for a classic Sea Ranch experience. The house features thoughtful architecture that maximizes the terrific white water views and also a truly peaceful bright interior courtyard that was bursting with native (!) flowers while we were there. In general, the movement of light across the various spaces of the house throughout the day is almost magical. The house is clearly set up for rental, so the art and decorations are routine and there are not a lot of personal touches, but the location of the furniture, the comfort of the beds, the large dining table, and the appointments of the kitchen show signs that this was at some point a loved family retreat. Oh---and then there are the princess phones. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets show signs of wear, but to go back to where I started, they are, as is the rest of the house, classic Sea Ranch.

Nice Home but not managed by owners

We had reserved this home for a celebration of our son’s 40th birthday but 4 days before arrival we had a terrible slide on our road and are still not able to get out. I spent 3 frantic days seeing if we could reschedule our stay since I saw plenty of availability but no one answered my messages. There is no way to get a message to the owners and vacasa never even tried. The day before we were to arrive they answered and said it was too late to change the dates. As an owner of vacation rentals I have and do make allowances for my guests in case of a true emergencies , but vacasa would not even try. We were not asking for a refund but just to come a little later since there was a lot of availability. When you rent from Vacasa you are renting from a corporation, and corporations do not have hearts. Our son and his family were able to go and enjoy the home which was very nice, but my husband and I missed our son’s 40th birthday and were not able to celebrate with him. VRBO is supposed to be rentals by owner, but that is not the case and the name is very deceptive. I will never rent from VRBO or Vacasa again.

Reset retreat

We are locals from this area. All of us grew up here. We checked in when its was raining fairly hard. The ceiling has been leaking obviously for years. It was dripping in the living room area and down the walls. It was reported, but the pictures wouldn’t send. We thought since there is a wood burning stove, there would be firewood so we could use it. No one got back to us after we asked about the firewood situation. We read the binder to find out wood isn’t provided. Had we known that, we would have brought our own. The vacuum closet has damp rid packs because of the roof leaks and is moldy. The carpet in the bedroom should be cleaned. There were only 3 coffee filters and there aren’t very many cooking utensils. One of the blenders is broken. It’s a very nice house, but could use some thought and a review of things people need like ziplock bags for example. If you advertise the house for a large group maybe consider larger bowls, pots and pans.

Great Sea Ranch Getaway

Loved this house -- the views of the ocean were incredible, and the layout of the bedrooms provided privacy and comfort. We found the house very clean and well taken care of.
