Really couldn’t be more impressed. We were expecting the typical room above a pub, but it was incredibly comfortable, clean and ideal for our stay in the lakes at the bank holiday. Absolutely well worth the money!! The bed was one of the best beds I’ve slept in… so impressed: we will be back.

I've stayed here previously. It's a shame this place isn't a functioning pub anymore. Shame to see it go down hill. That said, the room was cheap and basic which reflects the property.

Really can’t complain but it was very dated and the entrance to the building and room was very rough , the room itself was very dated but clean and you can see they have done the best they can with what they have , I wouldn’t like to be unfair so would say that the place is safe clean and somewhere to get your head down for a good nights sleep, just smelled damp and was advertised with the pub pictures in the listing which has clearly been closed for some time , I asked for a refund which before arriving once they sent the automated message to say the pub was closed shortly after booking which was refused , I feel this place is being mis sold to people but for the low price it would suit someone who needs cheap accommodation, we didn’t stay both nights and left after one. To sum up it’s somewhere to sleep if desperate or on a tight budget when hiking.

We stayed last night as a stop off to do a walk today. The room was clean, warm and the bed was comfy and had tea and coffee making facilities. The location is good for the lakes if you want to break the journey, takeaways are 5 mins away in seascale along with a coop. It's not fancy, but for £45 a night, it did exactly what it needed to for us.

Basic but functional stay. Completely acceptable for the price you pay. Digital access to building and room worked well and I assume keeps costs down. More of our closed down pubs should be converted along the lines of this model. Absolutely fantastic pub just across the road with great food, beer and vibe. Completely fine for a one night stop.

Easy to find, free parking 200 yards away. The rooms are functional but very clean. During the week (when i stayed) it was very quiet. An excellent shower with plenty of hot water. All round a very good place at a very good price.

Worth a stay

Good, honest, clean pub/inn style accommodation. Clean room and toilet, comfortable bed, discrete decoration, with choice hot drinks and toiletries included. Great food at Lamb and Lion over the road (tasty and generous), or Wild Olive restaurant. I worked nights, place was very quiet and restful. Residents have a separate entrance to pub.
