But my favorite parts of Sedona are the little known secret places, that you can explore and experience without the crowds. This gem is one of those secret locations. Sedona almost never gets snow, and when it does snow, it rarely sticks. So when a giant snow storm shut down the whole city last winter, we were dying to go out and get some epic snow pictures! Locals refer to this spot as the Birthing Cave. It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy parts of the city. It is a fairly easy hike to get here, but getting up into the cave is a whole other story! It requires a lot of scrambling, and some serious guts! The home is very comfortable and in a beautiful spot. The scenery from the living area and deck is amazing. Mountains all around. Good outdoor space as well with a grill and sitting area as well as a fire pit. Great location...only about a half mile into town. Only a few issues. There was no coffee or bottled water when we arrived at 3 a.m. I would recommend the owner supply, at a minimum coffee and water and maybe a few snacks. Also, the mgmt company only provided online information about the property and Sedona. It would have been nice to brochures with things to do in the area. While the house was generally clean, the dining table had food on it as well as the chairs. Wasn't a big deal but the cleaners could have done a better job. Overall, we were very comfortable in the house and just loved the surrounding area and neighborhood....very quiet.
