Having stayed previously for a few nights at the end of Dec 2015, I returned for a 9 night stay in Jan 2017. Both times I opted for a paddy view room, which I love. Unfortch this time around the local villagers were at the end of their harvest and burning the fields so instead of lush greenery the view was a charred brown field. Completely out of control of the hotel's power and they sent apologist letters to all guests, which was a very thoughtful touch. For me the staff make this hotel, from pickup at the airport to my final departure they greeted me by name each time coming and going out of the hotel. Always met with smiles and offers to help with anything. As for the property itself, it is a no frills kind of place. Probably not appropriate for families nor anyone wanting to laze by the pool. esp as the pool is a small feature in the courtyard of the hotel. You don't come here for the pool. This is more of a "business" hotel feel with efficiently designed rooms. Not without imperfections, like the ever popular 'open shower design' that always floods any bathroom and the toilet behind the door, and the small closet at the front of the room near the door, it is still great value for money for the budget minded traveler who doesn't plan to spend a lot of time hanging around the hotel. One tip - skip the breakfast (it's not good) and avail yourself of any of the amazing cafe and food options in the vicinity! Try Pison, Nook, or Livingston for breakfast. :)
