The Layar was amazing. The property is beautiful and well appointed. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The only downside is that it’s a bit out of the way with nothing around the villas. If you don’t mind a short walk or taxi ride, it’s perfect.

Beautiful private and secluded villa, amazing pool and garden. The staff were extremely friendly and always ready to help with any request we had. The whole property was an oasis of calm that we couldn’t wait to get back to after our day out and about. Frangipanis and other plants around the pool in our villa gave enough shade to keep the water temperature cool and refreshing. Great after a hot, humid day. The onsite restaurant, Settimo Cielo, offered plenty of choice for breakfast and other meals. Having it right there and open from 7am to late gave plenty of flexibility. The a la carte and weekend grazing menus were amazing. Short walk to the main areas of Seminyak. Yes you do have to watch out for traffic on the way, but the drivers are aware of pedestrians and we had no problems. Loved the whole experience, very pleased we found it. It will always be our first choice when we visit Bali!

Before I stayed, I was sent details by email and was able to discuss any concerns I had in advance. All the staff were friendly and I felt comfortable during my stay. I could choose to eat breakfast in the restaurant or in the villa, and the menu was so extensive that I didn't get bored even if I stayed for several days. I was bitten on the face and arms by some kind of insect, so insect protection is essential. Overall, I think this villa is a good value for money. I would like to stay again.

The villa is wonderful and has a wonderful design. I did not like the open bathroom and we asked to change the villa to a closed bathroom. Some people may like it. The breakfast is good but limited. The bed is not comfortable in proportion to a five-star rating. In general, the place is wonderful and it is possible for me to visit again.

とてもオシャレなデザインのビィラでした。バリらしいイメージ通りの雰囲気で気に入りました。スタッフの方々は日本語を話せませんが、いつも笑顔で接してくれます。あと朝食はセレクトでき飽きないのと、量も多くとても豪華でした。一つ難点なのは周辺の道が狭く、車やバイクがひっきりなしに往来するので歩き難かったです。

The Layar 3 bedroom villa

Great location, great breakfast, friendly staffs. Great swimming pool. Tiny old TV size with no hdmi port in the room, good internet when it is working (sometimes no internet connection at night), sometimes no water at night. One of the toilets can’t flush properly. Overall, it was a good stay, my kids are happy with the pool and the huge wooden jenga game.

Reception staff gave incorrect information and the manners were not good, we felt that they just wanted to talk us out (not helpful). The ground next to the private swimming pool is built with slippery materials (when wet) so I slipped over and fell and hurt myself very badly with bleeding when I walked up from the swimming pool. The surface of the closet was broken. Hurried us to check out before the check out time and we felt pressured. The artistic design of the room was good. The services in the hotel restaurant was good. There were electrical buggies which served like shuttle bus but it only serviced 4 times a day, most of the time the buggies were lying there while we needed to walk or found our own taxi. They misled us that the hotel had a gym+club+big swimming pool but actually the facility was 10 minutes walk away from the hotel and the class of the club was actually for public, and there were back-packers (we observed), the facility's class is many level lower and cheaper than the hotel which is a private villa. the hotel does not worth the price we were paying.

Relaxing luxurious stay at The Layar

The villa was excellent. It was clean, modern with many amenities provided. I requested early checkin at 12 noon and the possibility to have us picked up from a nearby villa in Seminyak we were staying the previous day. The butler came promptly on time and helped us checkin early and also took us directly to the villa on the complimentary buggy ride. The checkin was seamless and the butler took care of everything from our villa. The stay of 3 nights was the best one I had in Bali to date of my previous 5 visits. We ordered in room dining during our stay and in-villa massage. Food was delicious and came quickly. The masseurs were both very pleasant and skilful. In-villa breakfast were also delicious and came on time as our requested timing. Housekeeping was also done swiftly and fresh towels replaced as requested. I heard the neighbouring villa being power washed after the guests left, so that told me the villa places great emphasis on cleanliness. As with any open air villa with a garden and bathroom, there were some mosquitoes but not many as the villa does mosquitoe fogging and also spraying of insecticide every night. Killed 2 cockroaches in the bathroom as it’s open concept villa, so no real concern. Felt checkout was a little rushed though. While we understand they need to prepare the villa for next guests, the housekeeping and reception to avoid calling us 30 min prior to checkout simultaneously to do a check on minibar consumption, we would have given the villa a 10.

Enjoyed our stay at The Layar, villa 2A. Our villa was lovely and very well maintained. Staff were very helpful and were available if we needed anything during our stay. The pool and garden were beautiful. Nice touches like a turn down service in the evening. The only slight downside was the noise from neighbouring villas at times. Would stay again.

Beautiful villa!The best in Seminyak so far for me

The villa was absolutely beautiful! It looked exactly as it did in the photos! I loved how each bedroom had their own outdoor showers. Also, they ask you what you want for breakfast the night before so that when you wake up, breakfast is already prepared by the dining area; it was so nice! The water in the pool was nice and warm as well, which made it really fun to just lounge around the villa and swim the whole day. We stayed in villa 13 and the only downside was the electricity got cut a couple of times during the day and it took awhile for maintenance to come and sort it out. Also, the third bedroom by the lower basement area had a funky smell under the bed. We told housekeeping about it but the smell was still there. Other than those two things, we enjoyed every bit of our vacation! Would definitely come back and stay in The Layar again!
