"施設はまだ新しく、清潔感満載のホテルです。またテントと露天風呂のある別室（ガーデン）もしっかりとプライバシーが保たれ、お湯も適度な温度で大変満喫出来ました。サービスも従業員の方々の笑顔での丁寧な対応は大変よく、到着時の軽食や選べるシャンプー、ボディーソープ、ソフトドリンクとアイスの無料サービスなど至れり尽くせりで満足いくものでした。２点ほど気になった点は、水回りのミラー内蔵型時計や同様の共用部分のトイレの時計が正確じゃなかったり、部屋内の冷蔵庫が殆ど効いていなかったことは少し残念てした。"

"This was a no frills, older hotel with nothing around but it was well maintained and clean and the staff was very friendly & helpful and spoke some English. There is a toilet & sink in the room but no tub or shower--you need to go downstairs for the shower and onsen but it's for your own private use (reserve your time to use at the front desk). The bus stop is in front of the hotel but only runs twice every hour. Within a 13-minute walk is the ropeway at Ubako which will take you down to Lake Ashinoko area where you can catch the pirate ship. Having the Hakone Freepass is highly recommended as you can use it many times on the ropeway and pirate ship as well as the Tozan buses. It also gives you discounts at various tourist attractions."

"Most things at this hotel worked out well but I don't think it was as comparable to other 9.2+ ratings I've stayed at. I thought it was more of a 8.8-9.0 ish. Or perhaps Kamakura hotels are just overall less competitive than Tokyo or Kyoto's. While most factors are great - helpful staff, location not far from train station and walkable to shopping areas, clean rooms, public large bathing house, manga available in the lobby, nice night gown and towels in rooms. Some small details are not perfect - the windows only have a paper-like blinder, no black-out curtain, so for sleepers sensitive to light, you'd get woken up by sunlight as soon as the morning gets bright. Sound proofing is also not the best on the floors, I kept hearing people above us walking around the rooms in the morning and at night."

"We only stayed a few nights, but the experience was so good I wish we'd stayed longer. First the location is amazing. A beautiful property up in the mountains surround by nature and beautiful sky be it day or night. The staff are super friendly from the minute you arrive they usher you in, help you get checked in, and do a thorough job of explaining the amenties and features of the hotel. The rooms are fantastic, offering a mix of traditional and modern Japanese living. The open air bath on the balcony is a gamechanger. We booked the room that included the dinner package and I would highly recommended it. The courses were fantastic one after another. Additionally breakfast is available and there's so much delicious food, I felt completely ruined for other hotels on my trip. And lastly what is so amazing about this hotel is just how peaceful and serene it is. The environment encourages slowing down, relaxing, and enjoying the tranquility of the Japanese landscape. I found myself going out on the balcony each morning, meditating or reading a book with the just the ambience for sound. I'm a director and writer and I've decided I'll be booking this hotel to work on a novel I'm writing. I felt so inspired and in such a flow state while staying here. If visiting Hakone this would be my top recommendation. Can't rave about it enough."
