Modern Cottage 1 (The Lorca, Catskills) - 10 min to Belleayre, 25 min to Windham

Our contemporary Catskills cottage space is the perfect place space to take in the natural wonder of the Catskill Mountains. The 3-acre property features a meadow, forest, and fire pits with a stream nearby. Our cottage has been freshly renovated for your arrival and features a bright, airy open floor plan, gorgeous pine, and a calming color palette upstairs.

Please note that we have another twin cottage that you may wish to book together with this cottage.

The downstairs has a contemporary kitchen and is built around a 1907 stone fireplace, currently inactive. Our upstairs has a cathedral ceiling with a tasteful contemporary look featuring a range of plants and midcentury modern furniture. A clawfoot tub and marble vanity complete the bathroom. There are two beds, with one full bed in a private bedroom and a day bed in the upstairs living room. Guests have access to outdoor furniture in our meadow and the cottage front porch.

Our sheets are Brooklinen and our dining is by Year & Day.

Please note that our Cottage One and Two fireplaces are ornamental for safety. We have active fireplaces in our Cabin and Farmhouse. Please visit @thelorca for more information on IG and to view our website.

As listed but missing important info

The place was “clean” but the couches and chairs had stains on them. Cobwebs everywhere. I only stayed for 50% of the time bc I couldn’t deal with all the bugs INSIDE the home. My dog was bitten by some bug. Probably a tick and I didn’t realize till later the first night. I still won’t know what if any infection she may have encountered for 4 weeks. I was specific about noise bc my dog is sensitive and my home in Manhattan is quieter as this place is right on the main road. No TV but host was helpful in securing one rather quickly. Maybe bc this is more of a winter place and not a summer place they just ignore it and that may be the reason for the cobwebs. Don’t want to sit anywhere without a sheet down. Stains are visible. All appliances work fine. Small AC but enough to keep cool. While they are not responsible for neighbors with fireworks I made it clear that I needed total quiet or was not the right place for me. Well that didn’t work. Also if you have a pet. Expect Ticks. They tell you once you get there but not before. Hopefully my dog will be fine when I retest her. Vet fees cost me $600 for bloodwork when o returned home. Thankfully she’s vaccinated against lime but there may be other infections and hopefully none show up. I personally was bitten multiple times and barely left the house. If you need a crash pad in the winter maybe a good choice. Def not a good summer getaway type of place. Curtains are sheer so expect to be up early with the sun.

Great location for hiking and skiing

Definitely enjoyed my stay at the Lorca. It was clean, neat and tidy and was close to Belleayre. Peakamoose restaurant served an amazing dinner apres ski. Available grill and firepit provided a perfect getaway long weekend for us.

Cozy, cute, convinient

This tidy cabin has a great minimalist aesthetic. We cooked some great meals inside and on the grill. As listed, it's very close to Bellayre where we when snowboarding.

Birthday Getaway

This cottage is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you're looking for a place of quiet rest and relaxation this is the cottage for you. We were immediately drawn in by the soothing sounds of the nearby creek. The only downsides to the remote location are: things close early and cell service is truly spotty. Other than that we had a wonderful two day weekend filled with hiking and the best pancakes I've ever eaten at the Phonecia Diner.

Cute little place

House was clean and as advertised.- well appointed. We appreciated the local coffee and granola. The property manage was responsive and easy to work with. The house was warm and lights were on when we arrived late. Perfect little get away.
