The check in experience was not pleasant. Room is too warm and there is no air con - check with front desk, and their reply is just open the window as it is winter! Unfortunately, the room is stuffy and the window is tiny, so it didn’t help much. Stayed 5 nights there and there were at least 4 sleepless nights. Such a bad experience. The location was the only plus side of this hotel.

aircon not working
air con not working, 26 degrees in the room - got ill and had to check out early and move to a different hotel. Got a refund for the nights we did not use but it was a major hassle.

For a hotel at this price point, we expected much better. We had reserved two rooms to be shared among five people for three nights, booked through Expedia, one for two people and another for three. The triple at Hotel METROPOLO was stated to have separate beds. When we checked in, we were informed that the triple room meant for three people only had one king-sized bed, which they expected all three guests to share. They offered an upgrade to a larger room with a sofa bed for an additional 160 RMB (approximately $22.33 USD) per night, and told us there were no rollaway beds available. We reluctantly agreed.
However, we quickly discovered that the “sofa bed” was neither a bed nor a proper sofa—it was more of a small loveseat. When we went to complain to the receptionist the next day, the staff made us wait for over 25 minutes before the manager appeared, who ultimately said the best they could do was offer us a rollaway bed “as a courtesy.”
