Great experience at this hotel. Was slight problem checking in but the front staff fixed it immediately! Room was perfect and all meals were fantastic. Amazing service.
We stayed in Japanese Western Style Room with Japanese Futon and the room is BIG~ Hotel room furnishing is on the older end but overall the room was comfortable. Onsen was great too. Hotel can be a little inconvenient for travellers without a car. For those driving, there is ample parking available both in front and behind the hotel. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Recommended stay when in Utoro, Shiretoko!
It’s a grand and glamorous hotel which witnesses the glorious days of Japan. There’s a huge lobby with a European style library. The lounge is huge with sunset ocean views. The hot springs is huge too that is built by jade. The room is spacious and comfortable. Front desk helped us booking a five lake tour. Breakfasts were very good. Didn’t try dinner. Stayed there 2 nights. Memorable!
Very spacious room and clean, except our room was located not near to the onsen. Really easy parking , and staff are friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Staff & service
This is the first time we have booked a Japanese hotel, but the service under average.
Most of the staff are not Japanese, so they do not care about the service
This hotel is suitable for your group, not for individual bookings.
The good things about the hotel, the dinner is good. But we don't try the breakfast because they close early at 8.30 am
A huge but clean and well maintained property. The dinner and breakfast buffets were well stocked with varieties, quantities and quality to please most palates. The onsen is big and the outdoor pool offers a panoramic sea view. The view of the sunset is especially mesmerizing. Don’t miss it.
Beautiful location, very large hotel , large room, huge windows with amazing view. I did not eat at the restaurant but used the large hot springs and enjoyed the many pools. The problem is that the hotel smells bad with musty carpets, elevators smell like smoke , the room carpet was very old and stained and the toilet room smelled horrible. The hotel is in desperate need of renovations and new carpets. It is so huge that it feels uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
The hotel upgraded me to a family room which offers panorama view to the Sea of Okhotsk, as well as super nice bathroom and super spacious living area.
Everything was great so can't really say anything bad about the room. The public bath facility also offers wonderful experience and you can actually use the external bath to feel the cool air from outside.
The dinner and breakfast offered the better selection than another fancy hotel in the same town in my opinion, of course your preference may vary. The dinner was particularly excellent with many many unique choices available. I strongly suggest you to include the dinner buffet in your booking if available. The breakfast also offers more variety than another hotel in the town, too.
Very kind and helpful staff while the facility itself may look a bit outdated, but clearly super well maintained for clean services.
Overall, if you have choices and choose to stay this place, you are making an excellent choice.
The staff of the hotel was more than perfect: we arrived in an awful rainstorm, and they sent us a shuttle, so we didn’t have to go up to the entrance. In another event, someone at the lobby helped me navigate a Japanese only website to get a reservation for a bus service.
The hotel is on a hill, and the upwards road is around 20 minutes from the bus central. It’s much - much! - easier if you have a car. It can be grueling if you have big bags or if you spent the day hiking.
The hotel itself is elegant and enormous. I didn’t use the onsen, but people seemed to love it. There is a laundry room, an arcade and a massage room, and also a store inside the hotel where you can buy snacks, souvenirs and drinks.
The breakfast and dinner was fantastic buffet style event. They had great varieties of both western and Japanese style foods, plus desserts, soups and everything in between. Seriously, this was the best hotel dining we’ve ever had in Japan!
The rooms were big (enormous even) and sunny, the bathroom was very nice and of course everything was very clean.
One of my favourite stays in Japan, ever. (again: it’s much better if you have a car, and you don’t have to climb the roads after a full day of hiking.)
