Gorgeous and enormous home! Lots of space and multiple areas to spread out for a multi generational gathering. Plenty of seating for meals in several areas. We enjoyed the spa as well as the beautiful outdoors, with several deck and balconies to relax.

This was a very nice house. We had 11 people and plenty of room. We loved the game room and had a really fun shuffleboard tournament. The kitchen was big enough for us to share the work fixing meals and cleaning up. The dining room table had more than enough room for the whole family to enjoy our meals together. We would stay again. Thank you for a relaxed and fun vacation spot!!

The property was ideal for our celebration of my 80th birthday. There was plenty of room for small groups of family (ages 19-82) to gather and also for all of us to visit and have birthday cake. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, there was enough towels for the 14 of us. We enjoyed the deck and hot tub. Amanda was responsive when we conversed about garbage cans. It was a nice quiet neighborhood and close to town. Our entire family expressed delight in the Lodge. I will make some recommendations to Amanda, but overall well pleased.

The house is amazing, large and spacious plenty of room for all. We loved that two of the bedrooms had in room bathrooms, and all the of the rooms were large, The kitchen has all the amenities and we ate dinner each night on the large wooden 14 place table, so very cool. And to top it all off the game room was lots of fun for the teenagers. The jacuzzi was such an added bonus and was great to soak in after a long day on the lake. We would definitely stay here again. The host was great, with communication and very quick to answer any question we had. Also plenty of parking, we had 6 cars in the driveway and could have fit two more in the garage. If you're thinking about renting this house just DO IT!!! 5 Stars all day long.

My family had an absolutely wonderful time at the Lazy Bear Lodge! Recommended for any families wanting to spend time in one of California’s best kept secrets, Shaver Lake! We loved it!

Wonderful stay in Shaver Lake

It was meticulously clean…even the forest backyard! Beautifully decorated and so spacious. The family room and the game room is where we spend most of our time and even though there were 10 of us it did not feel crowded. Amanda was wonderful, provided good communication and was very accommodating. We all loved our our stay!!! Thank you!

Impressive and enormous mountain family getaway

Our first impression as we walked into this house was impressive. The home is massive with plenty of space for all our family to spread out and relax. There’s also spaces for our large group to congregate for dinner at a massive formal dining table (seats 16 people comfortably). The large living room has several couches to sit back and visit. Windows in every room with gorgeous views of the large open back yard. The house was clean,well maintained and well stocked with whatever we needed. Our host Amanda was was extremely helpful during our stay. She stayed in constant contact and responded quickly to our needs. She even responded personally within minutes to check on a small issue (outstanding service). We have been coming to Shaverlake for years on our annual family getaways. Amanda and this house were the best we’ve experienced. We would book with Amanda and stay at this property again.

Great for a big groups!

Our group was about half adults and half kids. This house was perfect for us to accommodate everyone’s needs. PLENTY of space for all of us to not feel crowded. The dining room was the perfect size for us all to enjoy a meal together. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the play room and the adults appreciated all of the different tables for games. Everyone was able to enjoy the hot tub as well! It is a quick drive too from downtown Shaver. The neighborhood was very quiet too, which we appreciated. Shortly after arrival, I had noticed that one of the stairs rails was broken. After alerting the host, she promptly responded noting it would be fixed. There was also some basic kitchen supplies that were missing that the host also reimbursed us for very quickly. While that was likely an accident from the house cleaners, it was a slight inconvenience. The biggest drawback from this house was the back deck. We were very disappointed with it. It is very old decking wood, and when our kids played on it, they got splinters almost every time. It is also a multi-level deck and the different transitions are hard to see, so many of our kids were falling often. Several screws holding the decking down were old and starting to poke up out of the wood. We quickly learned to not walk barefoot outside. We would have loved to spend more time on the back deck, but the condition of it was not conducive to that unfortunately. I would not recommend letting kids play on it.
