A place called Genesis at Shay Lake, Silverwood MI
This was a special time for our eclectic group of local and international journalists who became family because of a study program at Umich. We need an evening respite to say good bye. Thank you for a restful stay.

Clarify Before Booking
Overall, my large group of friends and I made the most of our situation. Be prepared for property owner and his family to keep an eye on you and your guests throughout the entirety of your stay. The owner and others were constantly walking in and out of the property without our consent, including in the bathroom area. Photos and what was offered in the ad on VRBO is not what we received. The kitchen advertised had 0 supplies, such as pots, pans, and utensils, common things that would be expected in a commercial kitchen. Be prepared to bring all of that, along with fans for the rooms and rafts as the lake is deep. A few of the refrigerators and toilets were not in working condition. The owner was flexible when extra guests showed up, but we paid a hefty price at the end of the weekend.

Silverwood Upstairs Unit
The upstairs unit is actually nicer than the photos show it to be. It was spacious, clean and perfect for what we needed it for (golf outing followed by fantasy hockey draft and equipped to cook and bunk down afterwards). The main room is large with a sizable table, windows all the way around, and skylights. Art met us at the unit and could not have been easier to deal with.
