“Everything was so bad ,from staff to amenities!”

“Very mediocre. Very tiny space. Didn't realise it was not a WC. Poor/ Difficult access. Poor service ”

“Clean single room for an overnight stay, the hotel is literally opposite the railway station and Piece Hall and town centre are a short walk away. Staff friendly and helpful. Some of the fixtures and fittings could do with some tic perhaps, but the rates are very reasonable and the bed was comfortable. Some rooms face a busy road so some traffic noise, but not too bad. Would stay again.”

“Continental breakfast was good and staff were very helpful. The rooms are a bit outdated, stayed in a double room on the ground floor. And they do need to dust the furniture in the room. Bathroom was modern looking and clean like it had a refurbishment. Staying on the ground floor was a bit noisy at times with doors closing etc and hearing the bar and staff entrance door opening and closing. Overall good values for money and nice to have Co-op and Tesco nearby. Plus the Italian restaurant……

“Staff all very friendly. Our food, both our evening meal and breakfast were both lovely. The one downside for me was that even though we had a late check out at 12, my husband had gone on to work and at 10:30am my door was opened by a man who announced he was there to do housekeeping. I’d read in a previous review that another lady had the exact same thing happen to her. I’m thankful I had the chain lock on or I would have been put in a very compromised position! Better communication between……

“Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. ”

“I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a good experience. The location is convenient, with parking right behind the hotel, and it was great to have breakfast included. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, and both room service and housekeeping were reliable. The only downsides were the lack of plug sockets near the bed, which made charging devices inconvenient, the absence of a shelf in the shower for toiletries, and (on a lighter note) it would be great if bacon……
