The hotel was lovely and clean but rooms could do with a make over. Breakfast let it down a bit The breakfast room was a bit dull and the breakfast was very basic. Ideal for if you’re going to a concert and just need to put your head down for the night.

This is a great place if you're travelling solo and don't plan on spending time in the room. The price is right and you get what you pay for. Carpets could use replacing, caulk in the bathtub could use replacing. The hairdryer was broken and the couch cushion was ripped. Again, I wasn't looking for a place to hang out, I wanted a place to sleep and shower.

This hotel has had a chequered past, furniture in the room was very rough and messed up, the shower lacked a cubicle door ,,,, but it was clean, new carpets, nice bedding, the lift worked and above all unbelievably cheap...; I got a twin room en suite with breakfast for £40!

Whilst the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room's furniture was quite run down. Bedding and mattress also very tired, but clean. Breakfast was basic, but fine. Handy location for Piece Hall.

On a positive side, there is plenty of cheap parking right next to the hotel and it is walking distance to almost everything in central Halifax. This is a very old hotel which is in need of better maintenance and renovation. The rooms are not serviced during your stay. (we were there for 4 days) The rooms are basic. Our bathroom didn't have all lights working; we had to ask for toilet paper and soap; there are no hooks or rails in the bathroom (the toilet paper roll sat sideways on a broken/missing towel rail. The TV is small, old and very few channels. Breakfast was very disappointing. There was bread (for toasting), butter, jam, tea, instant coffee, cornflakes, and glass cups with an inch of yoghurt topped with granola. The staff kindly brought us bowls of cereal & yoghurt when we asked for it.

Stayed here for 1 night whilst going to a concert at The Piece Hall, good location and cheap car park next door, it did the job as we literally just slept there, was concerned whilst checking as someone came back to reception asking for money back however room was very light as on a corner with 2 windows however bathrooom is very tired, no plug for sink although water only drained very very slowly, shower adequate after waiting a long time for hot water.Would not stay for any longer .

You get what you pay for. The room was clean but tired. Mattress needs replacing, shower leaked on floor not sure where from and some furniture had no handles. However it was close to town and plenty of parking. Council car park you can park for free on a Sunday or it's 50p an hour. Staff seemed friendly. Continental breakfast only

The welcome was perfect from very friendly staff and I slep well and is in a good location. The hotel looks as if its been a long time since any attention was given to the decor, our room looked very tired and the bathroom was not as clean as it could have been. The continental breakfast was meagre to say the least, cereal, toast, old fruit, and amused many other guests. Not good value for the money.
