A decent hotel for an overnight stay . Excellent breakfast and lovely grounds . Helpful staff . Rooms could do with a bit of a spruce up but nothing too major , nice bathroom with the handrail being a nice touch .

The service staff really need training. The service was shocking. Food could be much better as well. £14 for a margarita pizza that looked like it was cooked from frozen, and £15 for a large nachos that was actually small.

Such a lovely welcome from Nicky, so friendly, helpful and happy. Room was nice, great view. Bed was clean and tidy but just couldn’t lie comfortably.

Unfortunatly the staff were more interested in talking amongst themselves rather than engaging in greeting or even saying goodbye. Room was apparently an upgrade but the bathroom decor was very shabby the shower head kept falling off. I did try to tell the chap at the desk but seemed more intersted about decoratoins.

The barman Gaba was on his own on Sunday night. He took the meal and drinks orders, he delivered the drinks and the meals. If anyone was at reception he would deal with them. All this was done with a smile. He also made sure all the guests were spoken to and he had a lovely,lively laugh. He and the rest of the staff made our stay superb. We will go there again.

It was a tale of two halves. Nicky and Lisa on reception were really helpful and pleasant, as were the other staff we interacted with, but housekeeping let the side down. Lipstick marked glasses and a less than pristine bath on arrival; our cups weren't refreshed but towels were (even though we didn't ask for them) on the second day. It is a lovely spot though.

Looks nice from the outside. That’s as far as it goes. Rooms are a shambles / very tired. Local authority housing unsavoury characters in hotel doesn’t help either.

The premises were well kept and clean. The outside area was nice to walk around and quiet. The only downside I found was the toilet in our room was very low compared to some of the other rooms our friends were staying in.

Really pleasant welcome from receptionist starting the stay in great mood. Large clean room in very large old house. Good common facilities and best of all short walk from lively Eccleshall road area.

Excellent all round

Lovely friendly staff. Our room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Dinner in the hotel was excellent. We plumped for simple fish and chips. The portion was huge, the fish was fresh, the batter crispy and the chips were 'proper good'!

Beautiful grounds to this hotel. Excellent breakfast. Swimming pool is small but pleasant. We stayed in a basic room but would upgrade to privilege room next time as these have air on, fridge and an espresso machine.
