The room was perfect. I never saw the staff. The room exceeded all expectations. I know the hotel cannot control the weather, but the weather was perfect. My gf and I had a wonderful time and I would recommend this lodging every time. BTW, if you go to the brewery, the ceviche is wonderful.

We had to suddenly get a room as we were camping and bad weather set in. The staff were so kind and accommodating. Check in time was 3:00, but because our room was ready they allowed us to check in at 9:00am!!! The room overlooked a fabulous rocky beach where we sat on our balcony and watched the seals on the rocks below. Our room was actually an apartment with a king size bed. They did not skimp on any thing… plentiful towels, coffee, creamer, soaps, lotions… To be honest, the outside of the complex was a little too rustic and a little unkempt, but the rest makes up for it tenfold. Bravo!

Our room was on the 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Vaulted ceiling made the room feel even bigger. Space heater only but not needed because the room temp was perfect both day and night. We had trouble figuring out how to access apps on TV but one phone call to manager and it was resolved quickly. Room, bathroom and bedding all clean. Plenty of towels and extra blankets if needed. Stunning view! Left slider open with fresh air, sound of ocean waves and sea lions barking in the distance. Made for great night sleep. Beds were hard, need pillow toppers. There is no staff on site that you are allowed to contact. Cleaning crew office has a sign not to bother staff. That was very weird for us old school folks! We needed to known where to find an ATM in the area and had no help from this Hotel. Plan ahead with cash and call manager with questions. Manager was very nice and helpful. There is a wifi password which helped our cell phones work in this Hotel. Restaurant in building was great for breakfast. Good food, great view. We are definitely going to stay here again because despite no staff on site, we had a great stay and wonderful visit to Shelter Cove.

Great location, but disappointing for the price. There were some blinds that were either not fully functioning or were missing. The bed was not comfortable. The deck outside our "apartment" had planks that were broken, making it hazardous if we had brought children with us. The only heating source was an electric fireplace, after finding the thermostat simply clicked but did not function. Aside from these issues, the unit was very clean.

The location is beautiful, but right outside our room was a dump, with all kinds of garbage, about 50 feet from our door. The view was amazing, but one huge window had water calcium stains between the double panes, throughout the whole window. At night, one blind doesn't shut all the way, one blind is completely missing, and the one in the bedroom is partially broken, leaving anyone outside a prime nighttime view inside the whole apartment. Our best time was outside the room on the cliff, looking out at the ocean. I could find no way to contact anyone about any of these issues, as check-in and out are done online, with no other communication options. Also, the pictures to book the room look like you can walk out the back door right onto the sand. Nope! It's down a cliff.

The Oceanfront Inn is a hidden gem on California’s Lost Coast. The views are absolutely breathtaking—you can watch whales, sea lions, and sunsets right from your room. Everything was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully done, with a peaceful vibe that makes it easy to relax and unwind. A perfect place to escape, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of Shelter Cove.

What a view!

What a view we had from the back door of the room! There are chairs and a small table overlooking the black sands beach and ocean. Very peaceful. There were seal lions and birds on the nearby rocks. It's a great place to relax. The room was very comfortable and clean with all the expected amenities. The hotel also has a small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch, but not every day, I think.
