This main floor bedroom #1 will share the bathroom across the hallway, with bedroom #2 which is down the hallway and we keep clean throughout your stay! If you don't want to share a bathroom consider renting bedroom #2 as well so that you'll have the bathroom by yourself.
Raised Amish and living a simple life, we love to travel and meet people. Thus we decided to open our home to a bed and breakfast. We do live here in the same house. You can choose to socialize with us or we will leave you to yourself and give you your own quiet time to Rest, Relax and Rejuvenate!
Join us in the living room with comfortable couches that recline to help you relax after spending a day in town browsing/ shopping the many shops or Spend a day on the Pumpkinvine bike Trail ! Then wake up to birds singing and enjoy coffee on the front porch swing.
Enjoy the repurposed island chandelier.... An old very used/loved colander from our Mom.
Make arrangements with Buggy Lane Tours for a buggy ride , or a meal.
The Pumpkin Vine has over 30 miles of biking or hiking trail. Bring your bikes and enjoy a ride in the country. You'll see birds and get a real view of the back country.

So much to do.... So little time !
The MEC and Blue Gate Theater are less then 2 miles. And after a warm day in the sun, stop by Mom's Ice Cream for a cool treat. Don't feel like cooking here the BlueGate Restaurant is 5 min and the Essenhaus is 10 miles, both good Amish meals and great service. You'll want to stop at the bakery for cinnamon rolls or a pie !
A delicious breakfast at the Country Corral is 3 min .... if "Haystack" is on the menu , be sure and try that ! Their "Fried Mush and Gravy" is really good and an Amish tradition.
Then there's E&S Sales... groceries and gifts , mostly known for their Bulk foods , cheeses, fresh meat and produce. Their bakery has the best Delicious bread, makes great toast
with homemade Amish peanut butter !
If you need anything, please let us know asap. The owners reside with you in this home.

As Miriam clearly states, she is Amish and the amenities do not include Wifi or TV. But she went out of her way to exceed our expectations for the breakfast and comfort of our accommodations. The home was immaculate and she is a great cook, and her plants made the home an oasis of peace. We will be back!

Excellent experience! We hope to stay here again. A visit with Miriam was worth the stay by itself!
What to expect: the house is on a corner of a quiet Shipshewana suburb (not a farm) and is an easy drive to the downtown area and surrounding Amish farms. You really feel like you’re in the heart of Amish country.
The room Miriam rents is a basic (no-frills), comfortable, two beds, air conditioned, no tv, with a dedicated bathroom just across the hall. You have access to the first floor living and dining room, kitchen and front porch which are clean, nicely decorated and beautifully kept.
Miriam’s room is at the end of the hall and her two boys live in the basement, an arrangement that worked out well.
We had a good night’s sleep and a very delightful conversation with Miriam, who is Amish, in the morning over coffee.

Friendly house and host
The bedroom is comfortable and clean and we had exclusive use of a hall bathroom. The outdoor spaces in particular were very nice, and Miriam was very generous in sharing her kitchen and living room with us. We had a lovely time.

Peaceful, hospitable home
Miriam was such a friendly, welcoming host. The neighborhood was very peaceful and safe. It was a good home base for exploring the area. We enjoyed our visit!

Great place to relax and connect
This place was great for a group of us to all come together for some time away. It's exactly as its listed and was very clean. Also very close to all the town has to offer. Host had great communication which was very much appreciated! Would love to come back again 😊

Moms weekend away
We had the perfect spot to relax and unwind but also enjoy all that Shipshewana has to offer. With a pack n play and sheets provided, having my 9mo old along was not a problem (there are stairs but away from main living areas). The three beds are doubles so it’s a bit cozy for 6 adults but there’s also an air mattress and super cozy reclining couches. We enjoyed some of our own meals using the fully furnished kitchen as well as popcorn using the whirly pop! No detail left undone. It was a wonderful experience and Miriam is a fantastic hostess! We’d definitely come back!
