Beachy keen!

Great location right over the bridge to Smith Point! Easy access to the beach and nightly music during the summer. The house has space for all and the dock has frequent visits from mallards and swans. Peaceful and lovely. Great hosts!

Peaceful getaway

The view of the sound from the deck, or from the kayaks, is incredibly relaxing. We really enjoyed our week with children and grandchildren.

Fabulous !

Best part was watching the sunrise on the water every morning . View was breathe taking! Since it was October and got cold enough to start a fire in the wood burning fire please , it was great! Pete was very helpful whenever we had questions . Thanks for a great Stay!

Heavenly

We had a glorious week; the views are stunning and so relaxing...we couldn't take enough of it in and so enjoyed the duck and swan families. Peter was a terrific host. He was so responsive to any questions or needs. The house was well stocked, clean,spacious with the wonderful wraparound decks. We had our boat there which made the week really perfect for us. The location was convenient and so close to the beach. Had a nice meal out at a good spanish restaurant but mostly grilled and ate dinner with gorgeous sunsets. Peter's home was just right for us and we will be back!

Revisiting this Wonderful haven

This is our second time revisiting this wonderful house. I can’t say enough about the incredible location of the house-on the water, incredible views, 15 minutes walk from fire island beach. Bill is a wonderful host that even made sure to get a tandem Kayak for our second visit, in addition to the 2 he had, so we could go kayaking as a family. The house is super clean, very specious and have everything we needed-kitchen equipment, laundry, grill on the terrace, you could go fishing from the doc, and the highlight is the outdoor shower! We loved it and will be coming back again. Thank you, Bill

Review of our stay at 44 Sherbrooke Ct, Smithpoint

Very nice vacation home located on the bay with gorgeous views of wet lands and bay. Most anything you need to make the stay comfortable was there, even clam rakes and knives for opening the clams that we dug nearby. Although there were many windows on the second floor that could be opened for the cool breezes off the ocean and bay there are days when the wind is off the land, probably 3 or 4 days during August and these days the upstairs can be quite uncomfortable since upstairs is not air-conditioned. One or two ductless air conditioners would solve this problem. First class floating boat dock and plenty of kayaks.

PERFECT!

The description, the pictures and the reviews do not do this house the justice it deserves. 6 of us stayed at this house about a week ago, it was the best vacation ever! Leaving was the hardest thing in the world. The inside of the house is extremely clean and gorgeous. Everyday you find something new and interesting to look at throughout all of the decorations. The layout is perfect between the wide open living and dining area upstairs to all the quiet privacy of all the nice sized bedrooms downstairs. However the best part of this house is the outside! Upper and Lower wrap around decks with beautiful views everywhere you look, GREAT personal dock to water, huge driveway and plenty of yard space to toss the ball around. If you're looking for an area with a "hot" nightlife nearby this probably isn't the place for you. If you're like me and enjoy waking up from a comfortable air conditioned sleep to enjoy a big group breakfast at the dining table for 10, then going over the bridge to smith point beach for the day, after the beach come back and fire up the grill on the breezy upper deck and take in the views, then maybe take a sunset kayak ride from your dock only to come back to drinks under the stars at night, LOOK NO FURTHER!!! The owner, Bill, could not have made the renting process any easier and was available for any questions while we were down at the house. I absolutely can not wait to rent this house again!!!

My favorite stay on VRBO

I have used VRBO and similar apps for vacation stays. This was my favorite. Location on the water, value, the house, kayaks, amenities....All Perfect. Peter was a very good host answering all inquiries in a very timely manner. I would stay here anytime I return to this area of Long Island.

Wonderful House w Great Views!

We had a great stay at Bill's place! The home is large, comfortable and has beautiful views of the tributaries and great south bay. The house is equipped with everything you could need, it was just like being in your own home. Communication with Bill was flawless, we had a few questions and all was answered quickly. Perfect Getaway

While the weather wasn't perfect, everything else was. The house was very cozy. It was like a home away from home. We were close to everything. The owner is very friendly and was helpful when we accidentally locked ourselves out. I highly recommend staying here. You won't find anything better.

A Second Beautiful Stay on the South Shore

This was a second time renting. We were not disappointed!. My wife and I walked to the beach each morning. We used all of the kayaks on multiple days even in April it was so fun. Breakfast on the deck is beautiful. Full moon at night gorgeous. Sounds of all the birds so soothing. Bill's communication is exceptional. House contains so many little extra including labels on the light switches. We will hopefully be back again. Thanks so much.

Delightful, with BTV’s - Breath Taking Views

You really can’t appreciate the pictures until you actually look out the windows or walk around on the decks on two decks for yourself, and enjoy the wide beautiful views of coastal wetlands and the long barrier beach beyond; a slightly different view from just about every room in the house. The wildlife is abundant; we saw buffleheads, greater scaups, tufted ducks, Red-breasted Mergansers, and on our last day there was great blue heron sitting on top of the evergreen tree next to the deck. The bedrooms are bright with comfortable beds and the master bedroom has a jacuzzi. There is a full well supplied kitchen that we used everyday, including an electric kettle which you typically see in European homes. It’s in a great location near many full- and half-day attractions. During our week-long stay, we drove over the long and magnificent Robert Moses Causeway to Fire Island and hiked out to the lovely Fire Island Light House and walked the extraordinary beaches. On other days, we drove to the Montauk Light House , took the South Ferry to Shelter Island and then the North Ferry to Greenport. And on rainy days, we put together puzzles and admired the lovely views. This is truly a relaxing destination.

Even wintertime is wonderful!

This is our first stay at this property in the wintertime. It was wonderful! The fireplace was cozy and the winter views were stunning, especially the nightly view of the Christmas Light Show across the bay. The house is well stocked and the beds are so comfortable. We absolutely LOVED it!

Lovely stay

This property is beautifully situated on the water with sweeping waterfront views. The common areas are large and had ample room for toddlers to roam and adults to chill and relax. The kitchen is well appointed with wonderful large pots to provide for home cooked family meals. Bill was wonderfully accommodating and we hope this is not our only stay here.
