"We had to uber everywhere. If you’re going to go on a tour or walk around it would be better to stay near Copacabana beach. Check in is at 3:00, so hopefully your flight doesn’t come in early unless you want to pay more for early check in. The room itself was good. The airconditioning was great. Front desk could be friendlier. "

"Very disappointed. The property itself is nice. The rooms have spider webs. The hot water is hit and miss. Some days you get it and other days you don't. Breakfast is skimpy at best. There are 80 steps I had to take with two 20 kg bags. That is just insane. They don't tell you that at the time of booking. Also, the description of the Azul room is incorrect on Expedia. This room is NOT 568 square feet. Expedia shows free breakfast but the hotel wants to charge you for breakfast. Overall I would not stay here."

"I needed a place for the night and this served well. The breakfast was great. Only negative remark would’ve that there was no towel in the room. Otherwise definitely a place I’d pick again"

" Overall: 6/10 This property feels more like a hostel with private rooms rather than a traditional hotel. It’s set in a beautiful historic Portuguese-style building, which gives it a lot of charm. The atmosphere is very lively and geared toward a younger crowd, with frequent parties and loud music, so it may not suit those looking for a quiet stay. The staff were helpful and pleasant throughout. Most rooms are set up as shared spaces with either four beds or two beds. In private rooms, two twin beds are pushed together to create a larger bed. In my case, the bed itself needed maintenance—the legs were unstable, and I had to adjust or fix it each time I got into bed. The rooms overall are in need of upkeep. While the colorful design adds character, there was mould in the bathroom and visible stains. Housekeeping is not automatic, so you need to request cleaning each morning. My room included a fridge, which was convenient, though most rooms do not. There is also no TV, which aligns with the social, hostel-style concept. On the positive side, the Wi-Fi was excellent, and the food on the menu was very good. One thing to note: be careful walking on the stone pathways around the property, as they can be uneven. Overall, for the price, it’s a decent option if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room and are comfortable with a more social, hostel-like environment."

"The Saionara is close to two metro stations and the main bus station. There are eateries and a market very close by. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are spacious. The shower is excellent. Breakfast is good with all the usual choices. For some reason I was not able to use the internet. I could log on but there was no service which made things a little difficult. "

"The owner is really nice and helpful. Bed was comfortable. I stayed in the private room and it is nice and spacious for 1 or 2 people. Train, stores and pharmacy are all nearby. Great place to stay during carnaval as it is away from all the party, so you can rest well for the next day. "
