We loved the genuine old world feel of the hotel. Also its small intimate atmosphere. Comfortable spacious room, excellent breakfast and ease in which taxis arrived.

Vast in History and in the town centre its a excellent hotel stay, The Management & Staff are very welcoming and helpful With a choice of different rooms some with that historical tudor experience its a great stay, breakfast was plentiful and cooked fresh,, The bar and lounge areas are relaxing.

The staff was amazing. Parking is a bit complicated as the hotel is right in the town centre but the arrangements work well. Our room was in the old part and could have done with thorough cleaning and some updates. The stairs to the top were quite challenging for us, older people. The dinner and breakfast were wonderful.

Really good Hotel in the centre of Shrewsbury. From a welcome Sherry on arrival to a fantastic breakfast on leaving, we had a great stay. The room was spacious and clean, barring a rather large cobweb in one of corners. Everything we needed was there.

Excellent location in the middle of town. Short walk to shops and restaurants. Superb breakfasts and service. Restaurant not open Sunday or Monday evening but several places to eat close by. Room overlooked street but quieter than expected. Squeaky floorboards as expected. Issue with bathroom extractor fan not resolved.

Lovely room. Comfy bed. Toiletries were great. Hairdryer was good & not attached to the wall like some hotels. Shower was a little low pressure but that’s minor. Lovely breakfast. Staff are so friendly. We arrived back at our room after a day out to find a card which was handwritten by the lovely hotel manageress & a box of chocolates for my birthday. Very kind indeed. Great location. Car park was a little tricky to find but we got there in the end ! Will definitely stay here again . Nice hotel .

All the staff are very professional, friendly & will do anything for you. The hotel is lovely & has alot of history. Its in a fabulous handy location. Breakfast was plentiful & again staff are so helpful. As it is an old hotel it's in need of some attention such as air con. However we were given fans for our room in the extreme heat & managed well with that. The only negative is the bar prices. Got stung once with the extortionate prices & antiquated way the till works!!!!

The good; friendly staff, newly tiled bathroom, nice linens, central location. And that’s all, read on ... The not good; everything else. Breakfast very disappointing - we went elsewhere after the first morning. Apart from the very good tiling job, everything else in the room was as if it had been done by a bad DIYer or just abandoned. Mould on bathroom ceiling, bad shower pressure, no hooks *anywhere*, lumpy pillows, only one working socket in the whole room (and no USB sockets), window looked as if it was about to fall apart, no handle on the wall in the bathroom to help with getting in/out of the bath/shower. Honestly, not what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel.

Great location and our room had a balcony with loungers and a table which was a lovely surprise. But the best thing about the hotel was the staff who were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the hotel and local area. Although the cooked breakfast was also fantastic.

Room was ready when we arrived 1hr before check in and was greeted by helpful staff. Hotel is very old and I love the charm it gives. Our room was a nice size with a nice view of the town. We didn’t park at hotel , preferred to use the Frankwell carpark and only £6 Breakfast was fantastic with a great choice. I also liked the choice of times for breakfast anytime between 8:30 and 10:30. Very central to everything and would definitely stay here again!
