Overall, great experience
Overall, this is a great property! Beachfront, well stocked, pool, clean. The primary reason for not giving 5 stars was simply the bed in the primary bedroom. It was so soft, I woke up everyday with a back ache and needed 800mg of Motrin to recover ea day. If they just replace the mattress, it would be great!
A few other things of note for families:
- N topsail is just starting to get built out, so pretty quiet. Shopping and a few restaurants are only 10 min drive though, so very convenient.
- main road to house (only road) has a 45min speed limit — pretty fast. Makes walking and bike riding risky. We brought bikes, but didn’t ride.
- if you like collecting shells, this is a great place. The beach itself is nice too. Don’t want to give impression it’s full of nothing but shells.
- the house had virtually everything you need - plenty of utensils, places/bowls, cups, etc. all the appliances needed too. Two fridge’s -one in kitchen and one in laundry room.
- there is a nice grill, but note: it’s charcoal. It’s big, clean and easy to use, but doesn’t offer the convenience of gas. The charcoal platform can be raised and lowered for more or less “char”. It took a bit to get it right.
- there’s a baby pack-n-play, a few beach chairs, noodles and skim boards, and a beach toys. We left a 10x10 tent for others to use.
