Location! Location! Location! Literally steps away from the ski hills! Room and amenities are somewhat dated, but comfortable. Internet was very poor, even for Snowshoe area. Could not regulate temperature of the room; stayed a bit too warm for us. Front bedroom could use blackout curtains to block out hallway lighting. All said, we would stay again as the Location is perfect! Thanks!

Comfortable stay just steps( 75) from ballhooter lift.

Just because this was one of the less expensive places doesnt mean it isnt up to par. The apartment furnishings were outdated, but your here to ski right or do other outdoor activites anyways. Property was easy to access. The apartment was clean, and very comfortable. Plan to book again

The room was great for 5 of us. You can't beat the location of the room; bottom floor right near the exit, you can walk out and get straight on the mountain. The property itself is a little out dated but perfectly great for a few 20-something year olds to enjoy a weekend on the slopes. We had no problems checking in and no problems with the cleanliness of the place.

Great for the price.

Was a little worried about the check-in from some of the reviews, but no issues at all. Room was ready early too. Views of the parking lot, but that’s how it is for all mountain Lodge rooms with odd numbers. Not the nicest place on the mountain, but was a great price And very close to the slopes.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! ****DO NOT RENT FROM HERE****

I made the reservation about 3 weeks before my arrival and received a confirmation number. After 5 hrs driving I got to the resort on arrival date around 9pm. To my surprise the front desk told me they did not have a reservation. I showed my VRBO reservation number and the lady told me the host needed to input the reservation into the resort system. I called the phone number listed on the VRBO property page and the lady who picked up told me she will try to input the reservation into the resort system… SHE HAD 3 WEEKS TO DO THAT. She told me the system could not let it do it because it was past 3pm. I asked they needed to solve the situation but without any sense of guilt, remorse or a will to help she told me she could not do anything. To my surprise, she was not the host of the condo but a manager. I asked for the host phone number and she did not give it to me and gave me an office number. *** I MESSAGED THE HOST, JEFF, 2 TIMES AND HE NEVER RESPONDED*** to this date. So I was at Snowshoe with 5 kids and no place to stay at 9:30pm. After 1 hr of making calls and working with the front desk of another resort in location, I was able to find something to stay, paying almost 3 times more of what I would have payed if I did not have this HUGE MESS CAUSED BY THE HOST. After putting a complaint on VRBO, I got reimbursed. However, no apologies, no message from host… and it cost me 3 times more, which the host did not cover that extra cost. ***DO NOT RENT***

Owner did not honor reservation, we were left stranded

We booked this room 1-2 months in advance through VRBO. I got the confirmation email and even had an email communication once with the owner about the check-in time, to which he promptly responded, so I know he knew about us coming. We arrived to the ski resort at 6pm with our young children and all of our ski gear and found out that the owner had not put our reservation into the hotel (Mountain Lodge), so we had no place to stay. VRBO support could not book us anywhere else because they do not take same-day bookings. Mountain Lodge said they had the exact same issue the day before us with the same room where the owner did not put in the reservation. We had to crash on the floor of my aunt's room with our 2 young children and all our gear and it was miserable. Terrible experience.

Excellent stay!

After reading a few iffy reviews I decided to book here anyway. I have stayed at the Mountain Lodge before and knew what to expect. It’s an older building and isn’t new and updated. If that’s your expectation going in, you’re going to be disappointed. It was a fantastic 2 bedroom suite that was clean and had basic things in it. We brought kitchen stuff for cooking (seasonings, oils, cast iron and some utensils because I knew what to expect). The beds were comfy. We had a walk out porch and our door was 20 steps from the outside right at the Ballhooter lift. If you’re there to ski hard what more could you ask for? Only con, and this is not in particular to this room, is because you’re on the 1st floor and close to the outside doors there is a lot of stomping and the bedroom closest to the interior of the building is a little loud. Put your deep sleeper or someone who like a fan/noise machine in that room and they’ll be fine. Overall enjoyed our 3 night stay and would book again!

DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY - it is not cleaned at all between renters

My son and I have been to Snowshoe several times each season for the last few seasons, and this property is the grossest, unfit place we have ever stayed. The condo (mountain lodge 133) was not cleaned at all. The dirty towels were piled in the bathrooms, and the dirty sheets were still rolled up on the beds. The property contact (owner?) Roy didn’t seem to care at all. We had no clean towels, no toilet paper and no paper towels. The cleaners for another property manager (not associated with this property) were kind enough to bring us one clean towel each and couple rolls of toilet paper. The person listed as the property contact (possibly the owner?) never responded to any of my messages. The cleaners for the other property manger said this happens all the time and they have to step in to help this owners renters. He is saving money by not cleaning his properties. If you scroll through the other reviews you will see a history of this activity. This condo is not safe for renters. It is unsanitary, and should not be rented. If you rent rhis property you will regret it.

4 walls and a ceiling

I'm a dude who was looking for a place to party and snowboard for 3 nights. This met requirements however I would not stay here with a significant other and or children. The person who owns this obviously does as little work as possible. I found each bed with rolled up dirty clothes on top. The trash had not been taken out and the room stunk. The sink had dried puke and food stuck to it and had not been cleaned. One of the blades of the ceiling fan was broken. It's right by the lift so it's super convenient and people will always rent here because of that. I love snowshoe Mountain and always have fun there so it gets a free star because snowshoe is great but if not for that but that's it.

Excellent location!!

Steps from the slopes! Easy access to the village. Very clean unit and easy check in and out! Jeff responds quickly to questions. We really enjoyed are stay and would definitely stay here again!

Location, location, location.

Of you want a clean convenient plane to stay when you got the slopes of Snowshoe, this is the place. The property is in the mountain lodge, so if you're needing give star amenities that probably not the lodge for you. If you plan to spend a lot of time on the slopes, this place can't be beat.

Disappointed in owner promise

The property itself was good. Front desk was very helpful, slopes were very convenient. We were disappointed in the owner. We arrived after 5pm, entered the room to discover it had not been cleaned. I contacted the owner immediately he apologized and stated he would give me a refund. We went across the street purchased cleaning products and cleaned the condo. We brought our own blankets and were able to locate clean sheets. The cleaning crew arrived the next morning to deliver clean sheets and towels. Once our trip was complete I contacted the owner asking when I would see the refund, he stated it would be a week. It has now been 2 weeks with multiple messages to the owner requesting status of refund. No response. I hate writing this because he was very responsive at first. I’ll update this review if I hear back.

New Years at Snowshoe

We have stayed at Mountain Lodge many times and ML 133 was as convenient as the others. We like ML for its location and super convenient parking. The owner was very responsive and we had a great holiday at Snowshoe.

PLEASE READ - WARNING!

PLEASE READ: We want to start by saying that the unit and it’s quality were great for a quick weekend at Snowshoe. Very simple, clean, and spacious enough for 4-6 people. The employees at Mountain Lodge were very kind and the location is great for accessing the slopes and main village. HOWEVER: We had an extremely POOR experience renting with this specific unit owner as he failed to put us in the system for our reservation. Check in was at 5pm and (we) as the Vrbo renters had to attempt to contact our renter personally. The Mountain Lodge Resort DOES NOT keep unit owners’ phone numbers on file and will not allow you to check in without their information completed. We had our booking confirmations and emails, but still no luck. We could not enter the room. And our renter was unresponsive. Thus, we spent over an hour attempting to get ahold of Mr. Roy in the parking lot of this lodge due to the lack of cell service. We ended up having to nap in our cars, miss our dinner reservations, and simply hope by the time we got back our info was entered on his end. NOTE: When Mr. Roy did respond there was no sense of urgency or care that a room that wasn’t even available to us. The employees at the lodge recognized this renters name upon saying it to them, and apparently this is far from the first time he has failed to enter bookings. I requested an extension to our stay by 3.5 hours. This would allow us to check out later. No response. Then, I requested monetary compensation. After, ignoring all of our concerns he offered an extension; it was given after we had packed up. I basically had to demand this reconciliation. Overall, we felt that for the money, time, and effort spent to plan a snowboarding weekend, this was a lousy renter to deal with. We basically want WARN anyone renting at Mountain Lodge AGAINST renting this particular unit / property owner.

Great ski in/ski out location

The location makes this unit great for ski in and ski out. And they have a place to hang your skis in the hallway for easy storage. Just note check in is not until 5:00 PM and the lodge was pretty vigilant about not letting you in early. Owner responded quickly. Great ski trip!

Perfect ski in ski out spot!

Easiest booking ever! It was the perfect spot in mountain lodge at Snowshoe resort to ski in and ski out! Owner responded to messages promptly and even accommodated us when we needed extra time in room due to unforeseen situation. He didn’t even wait a minute to respond to allow us to stay and to check on my family. Will definitely book with him again and hopefully next year 2 rooms.
