The breakfast buffet was the highlight of the hotel. Some staff were very helpful, some were rude and dismissive. The morning manager who offered me a late checkout and the bell boy/man were very nice.

A very comfortable stay - the breakfast was plentiful, I loved the Clarins toiletries and having a dressing gown and slippers in the room. The interior of the room was very modern with smart controls for lighting, curtains, and air con. Meanwhile, the interior in the lobby was very opulent and traditional. What I will say as an English speaking international guest and for a hotel introducing smart/innovative touches to it's rooms - get smart TVs. The channel selection was very limited for English speakers, but this could easily be resolved by following what a lot of hotels are doing and installing smart TVs should you wish to access your Netflix or YouTube accounts.

This was a beautiful classic property in the center of the city and the front desk was helpful and friendly. There were plenty of options at the breakfast buffet. On this 6 night stay we only had the room cleaned one time and this was less than satisfactory. As the room was warm we requested an extra flat sheet for each twin bed. This would allow us to sleep cooler. When we returned that afternoon the flat sheets were missing and dirty towels were still on the shower floor. A call to the front desk brought the sheets and I chose to make the beds myself. While making the bed I discovered a stained mattress. I think we were both put off by this

Rooms were good, but had small marks scuffs and signs of lower quality workmanship. However its right in the centre so you are near tourism spots, the main avenue for food and shopping. The hotel is adjacent to the metro to sofia airport. And the vibe at the hotel is old soviet mixed with modern luxury. Its an absolutr bargain for the price as you get lots of towels, bathrobe, safe and room service. Main down side is the service from the staff, bur if you are patient and in no rush and are friendly, the same respect will be given in return.

The hotel itself is in a perfect location, making it very convenient for exploring Sofia. I read some reviews from people complaining about the lack of maid service, but the room actually has a control panel where you can request room cleaning, so that wasn’t an issue for me. They could have a maintenance crew doing some touch-up with hardware and paint. On the second day, I did notice an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom, possibly due to an issue with the drain trap. I reported it, and the problem was resolved. Overall, I had a good experience and would definitely stay here again if I return to Sofia.

I like that the hotel is in a good location. You can walk to many sites easily. The bed is comfortable, the shower is good, but the breakfast was not good. There wasn't a huge selection to choose from.

Hotel was in an excellent location. Very nicely styled hotel with very friendly staff. Our room was beautiful. No blind in the bathroom and paint on ceiling in shower peeling off - you would think it would get fixed as an easy one. On first look breakfast appeared to be good - lots of choice and nice looking fruit etc…however most of the hot choices were luke warm. A real shame as something they could sort. Overall I would recommend staying - just be prepared for breakfast not being great

A renovated room but with cockroaches walking all around the floor all night long. Must sleep with lights on and a slipper nearby to hit them as they climb out of the walls. The hotel doesn't have spa or gym, so there isn't much to do. The lobby bar has very small basic menu and they also don't bring out half of ingredients in the menu. Breakfast buffet is good. The check-in and check-out staff are excellent. The hotel is in the central location close to all the good shops and government offices. Would be a decent place if not for the infestation.

We had a fantastic experience at Sophia Balkan Palace. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Sofia, making it easy to walk to all the major attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of delicious options, and the staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again on any future visit to Sofia.
