We had a wonderful stay. Staff was so helpful and made a full breakfast every morning complementary. Room is very clean and cozy. Stayed in the cottage. Would definitely stay again.

Room was clean, a little small but just what we needed. The room we chose had a separate entrance that went out to the back porch area, and the breakfast was really nice (fruit salad, veggie omelet, sausage and toast, with orange juice, coffee and tea). The room didn’t have a lot of frills but we were hardly there and the price was great for what was offered. All of the staff were very nice and accommodating. The property has lots of places to lounge and sit. The location is only 6 mins driving time from the downtown area and it was quiet in the evening. You can hear cars but it wasn’t noticeable.

Room Condition and Odor Issues During our stay, we encountered a severe problem with our room: there was a terrible odor that made us feel ill. The smell was so overwhelming that we attempted to sleep in our car; unfortunately, that option proved too uncomfortable. As a result, we were only able to remain for one night, despite having reservations for three nights in total. Possible Source of the Odor We suspect that the odor may have originated from a cleaning solution, possibly one used to wash the linens and towels, or from other cleaning products used in the room. Communication with Staff and Refund Issue We reported our concerns to the employee caretaker, who assured us she would inform the owners. She later told us that the owners had agreed to refund us for the two nights we could not stay. We also wrote a note to the staff thanking her for assisting with a refund. However, we have not yet received this refund. Alternative Arrangements Fortunately, we were able to secure reservations at another hotel for the remainder of our vacation. Additional Problems with the Facilities There were several other issues with the room and property. The bathroom towel rack had been removed from the wall, and the shower was in very poor condition. Additionally, the parking lot did not have enough spaces to accommodate all guest vehicles, forcing some guests to park on the street. Based on our experience, we do not recommend this accommodation and would rate it zero stars.

My experience at this property was extremely disappointing. The staff were consistently rude and unhelpful. After being told by the owner at check-in that I wouldn’t need to change rooms, I was later left a nasty message demanding I switch rooms mid-stay. When I explained I was attending a conference, I was threatened over text with police involvement or eviction if I didn’t comply immediately. The desk staff even went so far as to say the owner “doesn’t know anything” and blamed her. Beyond the poor treatment, the hotel itself is run down. Lights in the room didn’t work properly, parking is very limited and on a steep slope (another guest’s car was even scratched), and the building feels old and poorly maintained. There are too many stairs, and you can hear a lot of noise from other guests and the pool area. This property feels more like a cheap hourly-stay motel than a place suited for families or couples. Definitely not recommended.

What a great find! Welcoming, friendly & efficient staff. Home from home comfort in all areas. Breakfast was lovely, as was the complimentary glass of wine with cheese & biscuits that was in offer between 4.30 & 5.30pm every day. Our room was very comfortable with a huge double sized jacuzzi bath.
