It's a motel and the location is pretty good. Everything is in walking distance since it's a small town. Yet, the lodge is too old and it's on the main street. You can hear everything, even the snores next door.

We have been to Sonora many times the town is adorable. This hotel is… they try to keep the old feel which is nice but everything broken doesn’t make “ the aged look”. The headboard was ripped off the wall had wood hanging off. Had a stool that if you sat on I’m sure you’d break a hip falling off. Oh the shower pressure was good though.. if you want your skin to peel when it hits you. And you can’t be over 4 foot tall if you want the water to be on top of your head. After a certain time of day don’t plan to find staff for towels or an extra pillow being you get one, sorry propped up back sleepers. And the pool… if you like green water this one’s for you! All in all I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was beautiful and amazing. I loved the vintage old look. The room was clean and the property was beautiful. The only problem was the internet. It was very weak and didnt work properly. You are better off just using your data plan. The location was perfect and located downtown Sonora. There was plenty to see and do since it was in the downtown strip. The Hong Kong Chinese restaurant across the street was delicious and very well maintained. The food was excellent and came out quickly. So if you are planning a vacation to gold country, Sonora, ca. this is a great place to stay.

This is an Old Hotel. You can imagine after many, many guests and building age things are not going to be brand new. Things need repaired and repairs are many. With that said, we loved it!! The staff was very hard working and accommodating. The antiques in the room and on the property was like stepping back in time, with indoor plumbing and cable TV. The free breakfast was a treat. Thank you. A great adventure.

Great old hotel. Built in 1850. Clean rooms, Good breakfast, nice staff. no elevator. Needs some TLC but great price and if you like old historic places, this is one. Would stay there again if in the area again. Thanks

The room was neglected, not clean, stain on bedspread, stains on towels and bed sheets, vodka bottle under bed, etc. Room should be remodeled from top to bottom. No real amenities...but soap and shampoo. Wallpaper coming off and patched in weird fashion. The staff was nice. Some of the picture franes were screwed into the wall. Breakfast in morning was just cakes, brownies, bagels, waffles, fake syrup in a 10# can, cereal and cold egg casserole. There was no salt or pepper but there was mustard but no idea what its was for. The breakfast room was freezing. We could even see our breath. Everyone in room was wearing coats.

The room was cute and very clean. I loved my stay there even though it was a short time I will definitely be back. The staff was super friendly and I loved the old architecture and landscaping around the property it was gorgeous.

The one person staff waws very nice and helpful. The rooms are very dated and in somewhat disrepair, poor heating, poor water pressure. The shower water temp regulates on its own and there is no slip pads in the shower, very slippery. The heating is not good. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was surprisingly good with fresh cakes, pastries and bread, waffles if you wanted. The hotel is 175 years old and is full of history and antiques.
