My original review was removed by the VRBO review committee after being approved and going live. I'm Not sure why. It was quite long and detailed, but very honest. I myself want to be able to make decisions based on accurate descriptions and honest reviews. So . . . . . . . . . .
Jasvir was pleasant, met us at a parking area (parking is not included in this rental) and walked us to the apartmt. The building looked rundown and kind of like student housing. It smelled strongly of cigarette smoke as did the apartment. The buildings entry door was was seldom closed and locked as the security measures would encourage and warrant. The listing clearly stated no smoking and we were given a key to the entry door and told to keep it closed.
The apartment was dingy, had a very stale oder of cigarette smoke and was not freshly cleaned. The small balcony (its not a large panoramic terrace) does not overlook the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Naples. It's blocked by about 500 - 800ft of trees and buildings depending on which way you're looking. You can't see the sunset. It does, however, have a huge ash tray on the wall filled with cigarette butts, if you like that kind of thing. We didn't. None of us smoke and would not have rented a place which allowed it. There was no usable coffee pot. Jasvir brought one and left it hanging on our door for us the last night of our stay. It was very thoughtful of him.
The linens and towels smelled clean, but the apartment did not and had not been freshly cleaned. There were dust balls under the beds and it didnt seem that the recent covid situation even came into play as far as cleaning this place and leaving it fresh and disinfected as one would expect.
Finally, when making the reservation I thought I paid VRBO directly in two payments which, at this point in time, could not be refunded. Jasvir said that VRBO did not send these payments to Gocce Villas and asked us for cash.
I refused. I then checked my credit card statement and saw that we had not been charged. That was a little weird. I should have tried harder to contact VRBO, but we were exhausted and hungry after a full day of travel, so I didn't have the energy to look for alternate accommodations.
He finally agreed to take my credit card.
We were close to everything in town and Marina Grande. The location was ok, but no beautiful view. That view was the thing that we wanted the most when renting this place. ItVery disappointin
