This was the most well equipped home I have ever stayed in. Everything we needed & then some. Plenty of dishes, slow cooker, spices, hand soap, cleaning supplies, etc. on hand in case we forgot something. Very spacious. Great views & location. We would love to stay in this home again, but I'm not sure I would. It appeared to be clean on all hard surfaces, except for the dog hair which I will address below.
We did run into a few kinks. When we arrived at check in, there were strangers in the house who said they were staying there. Couldn't really tell me how they got in or prove it. I had to stand in the FREEZING cold on the phone with my whole group displaced (after driving for 2 days) trying to get it worked out. I found out later that housekeeping had let them in. Very scary. I asked for some cash back & Vacasa did say they would send a small amount back. I'm not sure if it processed yet or not. They offered to send housekeeping back, but as far as I could tell nothing had been dirtied up. & they'd done enough already by letting 2+ strange men in the house I entered alone.
Second, the coffee pot did not brew. We waited & waited for it to start, but nothing. Finally, we borrowed a pot from another home in our vacation party who was chilling at our house til theirs was ready hours late. We replaced the broken pot with our own money that night bc we didn't want to be bothered again with having to call & wait on someone else's communication.
Third, there was dog hair everywhere. My wardrobe is black. I know this is a pet friendly rental, but I have stayed at pet rentals before & there has never been dog hair IN MY BED. It was in the master bed & got all over my pajamas. When I took clean clothes out of the dresser drawers, the clothes came out with dog hair all over them. My daughter laid on the living room rug & came up covered in dog hair. We dropped a hat or glove or sock on the carpet...dog hair. Not cool. I've stayed in pet friendly home that you couldn't tell. That was not the case here. We didn't bring a dog or dog hair with us. The dog hair from many different kinds of dogs was present upon our arrival. Again, we didn't call. They had their chance to be diligent about this many, many times before we arrived & did not. Based on the amount & different types of dog hair, dog hair removal does not appear to be a top priority. I just dealt with it & tried to forget. It obviously didn't work. My friend in another house had to change her sheets the first night bc they could see it. At least most what I had was light colored...I guess...if that's an advantage to only see it after it's all over you & your stuff.
