We stayed in the South Lake Tahoe area for three nights. We actually selected this home specifically because of (a) the fact that it backs up to park land, (b) the hot tub and (c) that it was a home rather than a condo.
The view from the rear of this house was beautiful and peaceful. The area is so quiet and we really enjoyed it. You had a view of the mountaintop through the trees. We did get to see the coyotes that other reviewers spoke about, and spent a bit of time on the back deck to look for them and for other wildlife.
This property is pretty basic. They didn’t leave any Vacasa information (as the previous rental we stayed in for 2 nights prior in another area), and didn’t leave any sort of information about local attractions, etc. The location was very convenient to the sights we wanted to see, and close to shopping (we cooked breakfast, and dinner a couple of nights) – there was a great grocery store about 1 mile away. They did leave some bathroom amenities, dish washing detergent and laundry detergent (which appear to be Vacasa standards)
We found the property to be less clean than we would have expected – there was food in some of the cabinets from a previous guest, and not all of the trash cans were emptied. We were able to handle that in short order, but was disappointing, and caused us to wonder what else was not up to cleanliness/hygiene standards that we just didn’t see.
I agree with another reviewer who stated that the furnishings, towels, etc were tired and could use some updating.
We were also pretty disappointed upon arrival to learn that the hot tub was not operational (in fact, someone came during our stay to winterize it, surprising us with an early morning knock on the door). When I contacted Vacasa I was advised it was not a listed amenity - but as I explained to them as it was listed as an amenity when we booked, and there are towels left at the back door for hot tub use, as well as the hot tub being mentioned in other guest reviews. I got apologies from Vacasa, but was disappointed that they failed to communicate about the hot tub being out of commission, as well as the fact that someone would be there to service it.
