Welcome to The Outpost on Forsythe—a rustic, western-inspired retreat tucked away in the peaceful countryside near Spencer, Indiana. Whether you're looking to unwind by the fire, explore nearby trails, or just enjoy a quiet night under the stars, this is your place to reset.
The space
Welcome to The Outpost on Forsythe, a rustic countryside retreat where the spirit of the old frontier meets modern comfort. Nestled in the peaceful hills of southern Indiana, this unique getaway invites travelers to slow down, relax, and enjoy a stay inspired by the historic trading posts and trapper lodges of the American frontier.
Inside you'll find a comfortable and welcoming space designed with rustic charm and thoughtful details, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring nearby towns, parks, and attractions.
Step outside to enjoy the quiet countryside and gather around the outdoor firepit in the evenings. Firewood can be purchased by the bundle upon request, or guests are welcome to bring their own.
Hang your hat, rest your boots, and stay awhile.
At The Outpost on Forsythe, the trail always leads back to a warm welcome.
Guest access
Guests will have full access to the entire home, as well as the spacious 3/4-acre outdoor area. Enjoy a peaceful walk along the small looped trail that begins near the fire pit and winds through the back of the property.
For your safety, we kindly ask that guests remain on the designated trail and do not venture beyond it.
Other things to note
Please keep the following in mind before booking:
This is a peaceful, rural property—perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature.
Wildlife may be present, so please be mindful when outdoors.
We ask guests to respect the property boundaries and follow all house guidelines.
No parties or events allowed.
The fire pit is available for guest use—please follow all safety guidelines and never leave a fire unattended.
Please treat the home with care as if it were your own.
Cleaning fee covers standard turnover—excessive mess may result in additional charges.
There is a walking trail on the property for guests to enjoy. For safety reasons, please remain on the looped trail and do not go beyond it.
The property is partially wooded, so guests should use caution, especially at night.
