"Spacious, quiet, clean house with a huge kitchen. Very comfortable casual seating. Fully-fenced front and backyard was perfect for our bouncy golden retriever who needed to burn off energy after a long day of traveling in the car. Tastefully decorated with photos of the Painted Hills. Host provided plenty of local tourism information , dining recommendations, and even a jar of honey from her business.This is an excellent basecamp from which to explore the John Day fossil beds. It is just minutes from the Painted HIlls unit, and an hour driving north to the Clarno unit or east to the Sheep Rock unit."

"This home was clean and comfortable with incredible views. It was very close to all the places we wanted to visit while we were in the area. There are no restaurants or stores nearby so plan to bring your own food and prepare you meals at the house. We did this and it worked out just fine. We would definitely recommend this home as a great place to stay while visiting the main unit of the John Day National Monument!"

"Great place in central/eastern Oregon with a beautiful river and valley view from the back porch! We had a great time fishing, hiking and family time. The place was clean and well-stocked with cooking equipment too."

"What a wonderful time my mom, daughter and I had! The hosts were amazing and made it feel warm and welcoming. My family and I learned so much on this trip. We had such a great time horseback riding! The breakfast was also very tasty and I was so thankful they catered to my dietary needs ( I cant do dairy or gluten). We will be referring this place to others and I highly recommend."
