This hotel is ok. It’s not good, it’s not bad. Usually I expect a lot out of the main brand hotel, and there is only this one and the Sheraton to choose from in Springfield. I don’t travel enough anymore to have loyalty to one brand or another, I just know if a hotel is great, or if it’s average. This one is average to below average.
It’s older, and you can tell, even though I didn’t have any serious maintenance issues while I was there. It has a small bar and restaurant, and supposedly has room service but there is no menu or anything else in the room to indicate that it does. Maybe that was on the tv, I didn’t check.
The room was ok, no waters or anything extra was available, and you could hear a lot of noise from the streets and highway outside. The downtown Springfield area in general isn’t very nice, so the hotel kind of just blends in with that. The room was clean and I had no real problems with the room, but it wasn’t anything to admire either.
I had stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn down the street for my last trip to Springfield, and honestly, that was nicer. For business travel, you pretty much have this or the Sheraton, and the Sheraton doesn’t have great reviews either. So it suffices for a place to stay and that’s it.
