The location is sensational, and the house is nice, but the stay overall was disappointing. Upon arrival, the house wasn't very clean and looked as if no one had been in it for a while. I smelt something strange coming from the dishwasher and when I opened the door several roaches came out and there was a terrible stench smell. We immediately ran an extensive cycle through it and did not use it for the duration of our stay. On the first night the downstairs bedroom was infested with small bugs, which were coming through the flyscreens. The guests staying downstairs had to close the bedroom door and sleep on the lounge. Actually, most if not all the flyscreens require some attention and the interior could use a little TLC (holes patched, knobs fixed or replaced and etc. The lightbulb in the ensuite bathroom did not work and I had to swap it out with the one in the upstairs hallway. When we went to use the oven, we were surprised to find several old chips were left on the baking tray and they were rotten. When we went to cook a BBQ, on Christmas Day, we found both gas bottles empty and the knobs (controls) not working properly. Disappointing there was only one TV remote to control 2 TVs. I know the previous guest are supposed to leave the premises in good order, but the things mentioned above should have been checked before our arrival and confirmed to be in good working order and clean. When we departed, we certainly ensured everything was clean and tidy for the next guest.
