"Staff is all very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very basic; no frills; almost “dorm-like”. There is a hair dryer but no bathroom amenities. But great water pressure! Breakfast is continental; vegetarian; sparse. I must have missed that detail when I booked. Don’t expect fancy. Big construction project on street outside hotel; but there are earplugs in the room! Easy walk to train station and river promenade."

"Lovely place! I ended up here on account of a cancelled flight and so pretty much just slept here; but I wish I had more time to utilize the amenities! "Overall, we had a positive stay at The Dolder Grand. The location is wonderful, offering a peaceful retreat outside the hustle and bustle of Zurich. The staff, from check-in to the concierge and porters, were consistently friendly, professional, and welcoming. However, I would give the hotel four stars rather than five, particularly for families traveling with young children. While the hotel makes some effort to accommodate families, it is not what I would consider a truly family-friendly luxury resort. Children have limited access to certain amenities, including the spa and pool-related facilities, and the restaurant does not offer a dedicated children’s menu. The hotel does provide a children’s playroom, which is a nice gesture, but it is essentially a guest room converted into a play space rather than a fully equipped kids’ club with supervised activities and programming, as you might find at other family-friendly luxury resorts. The property is also quite large, so getting around can take time, especially with little ones. Ultimately, we found ourselves leaving the hotel to find activities to keep our children entertained. This was disappointing, as one of the main reasons we chose to stay outside Zurich was to enjoy a relaxing resort and take advantage of the hotel’s amenities without needing to leave the property. The Dolder Grand is a beautiful hotel with exceptional service in a wonderful setting. I would absolutely recommend it to adults but not families."

"The property was safe, close to restaurants, close enough to the train station, close to lots of shopping. The staff was kind enough to give us a free upgrade to a suite for our family which was amazing and huge. We stayed one night before leaving back home to the United States. We were in Switzerland at three other hotels before staying here, and I will say I don’t know if it is a Swiss or European thing, but the pillows were just not that comfortable. I think they’re all made from down feathers, and when you lay your head on them, they just go completely flat. The breakfast was sufficient, but of all the hotels we stayed at in Switzerland, it was our least favorite… it was closer to an American continental breakfast. That being said, this was also the cheapest hotel we stayed at so maybe that correlates."
